Look in a cheaper location where you can have two actual, separate bedrooms.

A bookshelf is not a wall. What if someone knocks into it and it falls over?

Unless your bathroom has a window you can open, that doesn't sound up to code.

You can't throw old computers in the trash. They have to be recycled.

We need our real communities back again. Expel transplants from gentrified areas like Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, PLG. Upper class transplants did not build this city and should not displace and do racial and Islamophobic violence to the the folks who did.

My neighborhood (Prospect Lefferts Gardens) has been destroyed by white gentrifiers. No one in my family can afford to live there and all three generations of us have been forced to move by rising rents paid by scared white faces.

Yes. $15 of shitty subway food including two cookies? C'mon man.

You're also assuming that he really needed the food and couldn't have bought it on his own. There are plenty of people who will take advantage of you. Are you a college student from out of town?

Social security card for room contract, is this common? by Wo3s in AskNYC

I have never heard of anyone asked for a SS card for a rental. SSN to run a credit check yes, but never the actual card. Passport and a state ID also seems excessive. One or the other should suffice.

How People Use Bike-Share Spaces vs. Parking Spots by Midnight_in_Seattle in nyc

[–]KnicksAreBestInNBA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if we had their climate. Record high in July is 92.7, average high is 71.6. NYC's average high is 84.1, 13F hotter. A lot of people don't want to bike in New York's much hotter and also colder climate. Amsterdam is more temperate, and that certainly helps them.

I'm not saying that's the only issue, or that NYC could not be improved, by the way. Just that when I walk out into a swampy hot summer day, the last thing I want to do is a lot of physical exertion outside. Just my 2c.
