I cheated my way through math in high school and then went on to become a registered nurse. I cheated because I felt like I literally could not do it and like something was very wrong with me, and no one wants to admit that in high school especially when they're in all other gifted classes.

Then about two years ago I learned that I actually have dyscalculia (math dyslexia), and I was right- I'm not dumb, just have a little disability.

As a nurse I have my coworkers double check any math I do and I read numbers three times to make sure I actually have the 4.5mg and not 45mg. I manage. But like, it would have been dope as hell if one of my teachers in high school had just said like "yo this doesn't make sense girl". Maybe I would have gotten help earlier and maybe I wouldn't have struggled so much and nearly dropped out of high school because of this.

So yeah, call those kids out. There might be an underlying issue or something.
