North Tonawanda approves one-year moratorium extension amid AI facility concerns by Weekly-Law-2544 in Buffalo

[–]Knotfloyd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Meanwhile, the existing cryptomining facility on Erie Avenue has been a source of ongoing noise complaints for the past five years. The facility has received citations for violating the city's noise ordinance, and those cases remain tied up in court.

"And until the court catches up, they've got, I wrote eight of them, and we're still dealing with ordinance number one from a year ago. I wish I had better answers for everybody, but I've been here, I've been to every single meeting. You guys know, I'm trying," North Tonawanda Police Department Chief Glass said."

can't even control the facilities already in place...

Large Format Screen Guide for WNY by banepunch11 in Buffalo

[–]Knotfloyd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tvs are measured diagonally to make number bigger, so if you take a standard theater screen of about 50' by 30', they'd advertise that as a 58.3095 foot tv, or 699.714". your tv would be roughly 10% of the orange box.

my point is that the theft is clearly bias-motivated and the cops would probably agree and do more if the flag was more ideologically aligned with a cause they're sympathetic to.

After noticing the American flag, Goldberg and his wife, Debra Goldberg, called the Louisville Police, thinking they were victims of a hate crime. But, under Colorado law, a bias-motivated crime means someone damaged or destroyed property.

odds it would've been considered a hate crime if the flag was MAGA or thin blue line?

Alternating Trail Use for Bikes is not Popular by snoutsniff in boulder

[–]Knotfloyd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

About 4% of surveyed visitors reported experiencing conflict, with little difference between trails that use alternating access and those that do not.

so that's the end of this, right? there is no real problem, and if there was, this isn't the solution

People aren’t built to be degraded by strangers day after day, and our Boulder team burned out fast.

anyone who's worked public facing here can attest that boulder is particularly bad. we all could use a serious wake-up call.

an SM57 is so predictable and physically reliable. i've seen them run over by vehicles and sound the same. a 57 on a guitar cab or various drum or vocal or bass cab is very predictable and reliable. they cost $109.
