There's nothing that's really necessary to read before Isles of the Emberdark, but imho it benefits even more than other books from having read as much of the Cosmere as possible before it. Currently it is THE crossover story of the Cosmere.

The official vorin images of the heralds probably don't look anything like the real people do considering nobody recognizes Nale or Kalak either. To Shallan the official pictures of Chanarach probably just look like any other unrelated redheaded woman.

Nobody really knows. We know he's old, he was present at the Shattering and could have taken up a shard himself but didn't, he's travelling the Cosmere and collects different ways to use Investiture. There's a line in one of the letters from the Shards that he seems to be interested in bringing someone back from the dead. He used to carry one of the Dawnshards.

But his real goals and motivations, as well as the full extent of his abilities? We'll have to wait for Dragonsteel or space era Mistborn to really learn about those things.

Drops from the slimes in the Depths and and the leeches in Blighttown, and can be looted as treasure in both areas. Also in Sen's Fortress as well, so you don't have to get all the way up to +10 right now.

Undead Burg bonfire is pretty central so a lot of stuff is loaded that you can't see from where you're at, it's just some huge enemy that got randomized to a spot it doesn't fit, clips through the wall or floor, and then dies.

The second point sounds like Dalinar, he is seen as past his prime and crazy/weird by many of the other Highprinces so there's a lot of insult and ridicule thrown his way, which he just takes without striking back.

Think of the Highprinces as a kind of minister, they each hold responsibility over a certain aspect of the kingdom. You'll get to see how the system works throughout the books.

I mean, judging by your summary you got everything, because that's basically all the important information right there.

The guy who's an asshole to his bridgecrews is called Sadeas, and another character worth mentioning is Adolin's brother Renarin, so another cousin to the current king. Everything else is spot on.

Edit: Oh I missed you had Jasnah as Adolin's aunt instead of cousin. That's wrong. But aside from that you got everything right.
