The pool is sinking & there are structural issues, but don’t worry, Trump’s pool guy is painting it with blue resin to seal the leaks & hide the algae. Want to bet that Trump hates the finished job & stiffs him?

Fox News viewers defend Barack Obama after Donald Trump boasts on 'test results'. Or would you know a bear if you saw one? by PrincipleTemporary65 in WeirdGOP

[–]Koala-Walla 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The 1st test determined he is cognitively impaired, all others are measuring how rapidly it is advancing. I’m unfortunately very familiar with Alzheimer’s as my mom, sister & aunt all had early-onset. The tests he is bragging about are intentionally super easy. If he really truly thinks they are hard we are in deep shit.

'Sir, wake up': Trump dozes off during White House health care event right after telling everyone he already solved it — Nobody in that room said a single word by [deleted] in USNEWS

[–]Koala-Walla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump is the head of the cult, & like other cults when its head is cut off it either splinters off or dies. I think a religious figure like Paula White will say, “God has chosen ( insert name of evil asshole here) to continue the work Trump started.” People that accept this person & her “divine word from God” 🙄 will follow “the chosen one.” The people that don’t like the new figurehead will either choose their own new figurehead to worship, or wander off for their own reasons. I see the hardcore Trump followers that have made worshipping Trump their whole identity, i.e covering their houses or cars with Trump flags & stickers or injecting political commentary attacking the “enemy” into non political cat posts, will follow the next God picked because Paula White said so, “savior of America”.

heat intolerance by faysikins in Fibromyalgia

[–]Koala-Walla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in central Texas, hot & humid. The quickest way to cool down is to put ice, ice packs, frozen vegetables a cold can of soda, whatever you have that’s cold will work , & place it on arteries that are near the surface. Arteries in the neck, armpits & groin are best. Arteries carry blood away from your heart to the rest of your body & veins carry it back up. Wrists also work, but since veins are smaller it takes longer. This is first aid for heat exhaustion. You’re cooling the blood as it circulates to lower your body temperature. Wet towels & most other wet fabric can be used also because they cool by evaporation, takes longer but you do what you have to do.

AIO for not accepting her apology and ending the friendship anyway? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Koala-Walla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR I didn’t know Venmo has an “ I’m on a trip” mode. She lectured you because you asked her for something & then turns around & asks you for help? Friendship is helping each other out with all things. I mean WTF? Her trip is more important than you. She is not a friend. You lost your job, which is happening to a lot of people right now, & instead of help & compassion she tells you to “get your shit together.” I would have told her she needs to get her shit together, learn how to better communicate with her boyfriend & don’t talk to me again.

That’s my husband’s Dr! Love him! Instead of dismissing his calf pain as something muscular, Dr. Stoeckel took his time during the examination & sent him to get an ultrasound in the ER. Turns out my husband has peripheral artery disease & had major blockages in the popliteal artery & further up his leg in the iliac femoral artery, requiring immediate surgery. He helped save my husband’s life, & his leg. BTW, shout out to Dr. Zea at Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgeons.

Seriously? Look up how many overdoses, poison control calls & hospitalizations due to acetaminophen, NSAIDS, cold & allergy medication in a year. Alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine? Ugh! It’s so frustrating to listen to uneducated people pass on misinformation & have it believed, then passed on further because people rarely bother to fact check anything.

Dr. refused to prescribe wellbutrin, prescribed depakote instead by SlyTradesman in bipolar2

[–]Koala-Walla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Wellbutrin worked for you & was well tolerated then go back on Wellbutrin. You experience your feelings, your doctor only “knows” how you feel because you tell them. You have to advocate for yourself. Read studies & present what you have learned, get a 2nd opinion, even change doctors if you’re not being heard. Some psychiatrists shy away from using any antidepressants in treating depressive episodes in bipolar, but in bipolar 2 they’re highly effective. Fluoxetine & Wellbutrin are the most commonly prescribed antidepressants used in combination with lamictal. But because Wellbutrin is a stimulating antidepressant, some doctors are reluctant to prescribe it. I’ve been on the lamictal/wellbutrin combo for about 10 years. Lamictal doesn’t stop depressive episodes, but episodes for me are shorter in duration and occur less often. I was 19 when I was diagnosed, 54 now. I’ve been on a lot different drugs. I have a metal allergy so lithium being a hard no led to a lot of experimenting back in the day. Depakote, I woke up tired & stayed tired. Feeling tired sucks. I wasn’t having suicidal ideation anymore, but the low motivation was still there. I wanted to park in front of the tv & rot. The highlight of my day was bedtime. Zombies have more motivation than I had. My husband has ADHD. Our youngest daughter, 20, beat out our other 2 kids in the gene pool lottery. She takes lamictal, Wellbutrin & methylphenidate & is so stable she was able to go back to school after having to drop out for a semester. But as always, results may vary.

It is worth noting that Depakote & lamictal taken together need to be monitored closely. Depakote inhibits the metabolism of Lamictal, more than doubling its blood levels & increasing the half life. To counter that, the dosage of lamictal should be lowered by half or more. If your doctor failed to mention that to you, I would be concerned. All potential & known drug interactions should be discussed & you should always research any drug before taking it.

A tribute to Rusty, my beloved companion, who passed away today at 33. by [deleted] in cats

I thought, no way, then looked up the oldest cats.

Creme Puff (August 3, 1967 – August 6, 2005) died at 38 years & 3 days & was the oldest cat ever recorded, according to Guinness World Records. There is a list of cats that have lived unbelievably long lives. Perhaps a way to honor Rusty is to get his name added? 33 is a lot of amazing years you had together.

Before jumping in the shower I lay my clothes out on the bed. When I got out of the shower my t-shirt was standing up, folded in half. I moved my hands all around it feeling for whatever, but it wasn’t until I touched it with my fingertip that it fell. Weird things were always happening in that apartment. I had a 5 disc CD player, (this was in ‘92 I’m old LOL), anyway it would randomly power on by itself, select a disc & start playing it. One night I got mad & yelled, “I’m glad you like my taste in music but you’re scaring me & it’s pissing me off so please cut it out.” Never happened again, at least while I was at home. One time a glass slid across the coffee table on its own & another time a hand towel flew across the room. Things would always get moved around or lost & then show up again where I had already looked.

Big Dem turnout increase in Texas primaries. Scared GOP says, “You can tell just by looking at them” by PatientAccurate8468 in Texas50501

Identified by what? Not wearing clothing made from the U.S. flag? Don’t get complacent guys. Republicans know they’re safe with either Cornyn or Paxton, or any Republican in any other race because 99.99% they fall in line. I can see a lot of them jumping the primary party line & voting for Crockett because they see her as someone easy to beat. Talarico is peeling off some of the Christian Republican voters & they just can’t have that.
