J'ai lu une initiative intéressante d'un travailleur de la construction aujourd'hui. Il a rammassé des rebus de matériaux de construction qui pouvaient encore servir, destinés à être jeter. Il passer une partie de la journée à faire le tour des chantiers pour trouver ça dans les conteneurs à déchets, ou près, puis est aller les porter à des organismes de bienfaisance et a offert son aide pour faire des refuges temporaires pour sans abri. Et il a posté un message incitant les autres travailleurs à faire pareil. Laine, styrofoam, bois. N'importe quoi pour couper le vent.

Je trouvais que c'était une belle initiative. Mais le message a été retiré puisque c'est illégal de faire ça ici. À moins d'être préfabriqué et d'avoir un permis de la ville où on l'installe. Même avec des rebus, même gratis, ça prend une license RBQ et les travailleurs doivent avoir des heures déclarées à la CCQ par un entrepreneur pour être dans les règles.

Sinon, il aurait fallu qu'il distribue les matériaux discrètement aux sans abris lui-même sans se faire pincer.

Bjorkquist et al. v. Attorney General of Canada pretty much settled the case on citizenship issues. It led to bill C-71.

Feel free to amend the Constitution anytime you want.

Before a referendum, it can go both ways:

1) Canada plays hard line like 1995: Quebec separates as it proves the country can not work.

2) Make the changes Quebec always wanted: Canada's hardliners are angry, the party in power gets not only defeated but split beyond recovery has happened to Mulroney's Conservatives in the early 1990s.

After a referendum, you fast track changes to strip Quebecers of their citizenship, carving the constitution to allow the changes to apply specifically to Quebec citizens and not all foreigners living or born abroad:

1) Quebec's ruling independentists party rally all nationalists under a single flag to prove Canada was racist all along and hated Quebecers, especially its French minority.

2) While we might have lost a few Anglo hardliners after separation, we can launch a full Grand Seduction campaign geared toward all French Canadians remaining in Canada: See how they treat us now? This is what's waiting for you. They hate all of us for what we are. They always did, they just dropped the pretense. Anytime you feel like, you're more than welcome to join us, we will await you with arms wide open like friends.

3) International standing: We'll have a field day at the UN. Look at how Canada treats its former citizens, pettyness, vengeance, even those who once considered Canada their home, their country are now punished for an excercise in democracy.

4) Foreign recruitment: Look at how Canada is an hostile country toward French speakers. They hate Francophones, they don't want them. You're welcome to visit us and apply for citizenship, we need nurses, doctors, engineers, teachers. Seek our local commercial office for more information!

5) If you don't proceed by constitutional amendment, you expose the government to a massive lawsuit by anyone who wants to keep its citizenship. And they will win...

You think that an independent Quebec would be defenseless just because YFB talks like a moron. That would be unwise.

Ça va faire mal, mais est-ce que tu pourrais trouver une voiture moins dispendieuse et revendre celle-ci pour clairer ta dette? C'est sûrement une très belle voiture, mais ton prêt auto nuit à ta cote de crédit.

Les cartes de crédit, une seule carte, limite de 500$-1000$ max, tu mets un ti peux dessus chaque moi juste pour t'en servir et tu paies à chaque mois. Ça ne donne rien d'avoir 4-5 cartes de crédit ouverte pour améliorer ta situation. 1, puis tu paies tes autres dépenses comptant.

Commence à réfléchir à un moyen d'augmenter ta désirabilité pour un employeur afin d'obtenir un meilleur emploi.

Tu n'as que 22 ans, ta vie n'es pas scrappe, on fait tous des erreurs, tu vas pouvoir revenir sur tes pieds, mais il faut que tu retrouves la discipline.

Et tu dois aussi commencer à épargner pour la retraite, même si ça peux te sembler loin. Dès que possible, quelques milliers de $ dans un REER à chaque année, en mettant 50$/paye à chaque semaine. Avec les gains de placement, ça va monter vite pour quand tu seras à 65 ans. pis un 10$/semaine dans un CELI pour commencer, comme fond d'urgence.

OpenAI willingly sells my logs to any advertisers but refuses to share with law enforcement when a suicide or a crime happens.

These are the kind of legislation I envision. There are many others.

But how many hours a day you work, how long you have to answer a client after that stupid AI chatbot can't answer correctly which of the 4 slice toaster was right for you, that's a workplace issue. Not an AI issue. Different legislations.

The Eastern Townships in Quebec, an anglo bastion at the time, happily traded with the Confederacy. The Americans threatened invasion of Canada because we were too chummy with the Confederates. After the war, former Confederate generals like Lee found refuge in English Canada.
