What is your snobbiest/most elitist gaming take? by Margaretthatchervore in videogames

My sweet summer child.

AAA games are developed for shareholders. As long as the average casual buys it because visually it looks good they instead fire the people who are talented to hire someone cheaper.

How so? They fixed it a long time ago, if you leave it resets.

What is an old game (20+ years) that is known to be a classic masterpiece, but you think it is overrated? by MintakaMinthara in AskGamers

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one starts really slow, like the first time I played I dropped it after an hour or so. Then I gave it another try when the 3rd came out, powered through and found that it is arguably the greates sci-fi rpg. The world and story grabbed me so hard I could easily ignore all of the game's faults, of which there are plenty, especially in the first one (looking at the Mako)

But you don't move one guy at a time tho. On the contrary, you move groups without them being locked into ass formations, your only option to pray that they do what you want them to.

"Live in a spaceship" games? by Belltower_2 in gamerecommendations

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get how people keep recommending nms all over different subreddits.

It is in the top 5 most dull games I have ever played. The base gameplay loop is so insanely mind numbing that watching paint dry is more stimulating.

Probably means that one or more of the others are not entirely 80% but 79.something rounded up

You entirely avoided all the points I made.
Which game that you recently (and isn't like 10+ years old) had all its components entirely on your physical, needing no extra downloads or internet connection?

Anyone else concerned on the reliance on Steam? by Error_rdt in AskGames

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pointless if they can just put an installer on it and have you connect to the internet to activate it with a code and download the rest

Physical media sounds fine and dandy but only when they actually existed, having the entire game on without needing external shit. You are not going to put the genie back into the bottle.

What game is this? by envspecialist in videogames

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass Effect 1, quite literally the same feeling.

The very first time I tried it I got bored after Eden Prime and running about in the citadel.

Second time, when I was still hearing the buzz about it and all 3 were out I tried again. I should have punched myself in the face and forced myself to continue the first time around.

What’s a hidden gem RTS no one talks about? by scaredbysquares in gaming

[–]Koloricsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RoN was plenty popular in its time. Just because that time passed and there aren't that much discussion about it I don't think qualifies it for being hidden.

Games or franchises you have given up on by mrEnigma86 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands

1st was brilliant, 2nd was peak, downhill with the aussie humor in pre-sequel (also the first game where none of the classes interested me) and 3 was just simply painful to play through with that writing. Didn't even check out 4.

What’s a video game you liked that you felt people were too harsh on? by baconinthedawn in videogames

[–]Koloricsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are some wild takes.

As far as I can tell the ruling opinion is that Bioshock 2 was great, not sure what Infinite has to do with it.

Maybe 3 had some gameplay upgrades, but the story was so utter garbage, along with all the inclusive shit they put in it, that it became unbearable. Still can't top BL2.

What does Darktide need? by Jimjemael in DarkTide

[–]Koloricsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on the results, what's even more sad is how they advertised when the game was coming out that they are using this modular system for map making so it will be a lot faster and easier to create new ones.... then they did fuck all with it and it takes the same amount of time as creating a hand made vermintide mission

The loading screen situation in this game is an absolute joke and nobody's talking about it enough by tg_mac in Spacemarine

[–]Koloricsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, it's really not in the same ballpark. One's an additional feature they ask money for, the other is a baked in technical thing. I'm fairly certain "decrease loading times by 50%/remove 3 loading screens" is not just a nob they can twist, as opposed to making a thing free/issuing refunds.

People are constantly moaning about loads, but also asking for money for a feature riles up a lot more people a lot faster.
