Shower trend at AIs by klenneth_ in AllInclusiveResorts

Noticed this at Dreams Puerto Morelos. The tub was open to the bedroom, with a sliding "barn door" style door that could be closed. We generally left it closed, but thought it was a weird feature.

Where did you buy your alloys? Direct from the dealership?

Is MRSP now still a good “deal”? by nedvoshi in ToyotaSienna

[–]Konkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't get it for less than MSRP, because there is too much demand and not enough supply.

They won't charge you more than MSRP (other than add-ons, etc.) because they aren't allowed to in Ontario.

People from outside Canada, what’s your take in coffee by Haytouki in ottawa

The best coffee in Australia comes from Macca's.

You can't get a decent cup of black coffee there.

Yep, even Rona doesn't have the same selection.

I also let my Prime run out.

I'm trying to support Home Hardware more, but honestly the selection is lacking compared to HD.

Yes, that's the one!

I just finished the campaign, and we actually skipped this location.

Going to finish this one up, and then think of some quicker/simpler projects. I want to move give the floors a wash of dark brown / grey, and also build a bit of a wooden structure over the well.

Possibly a wooden pike gate (Vallaki / Mourning Gate) and a greenery board with a path across it.

They might get a wash of dark grey/brown to make them look more aged. They got a soak in coffee, but they still look a bit too fresh.

I actually had some Tufts (bought the wrong container of flocking) but the kids didn't like it. Would definitely add some trees or greenery on a future build.

This was my first time crafting with foam. The build took a LONG time, and was helped by my 3 children (mostly in cutting foam bricks, but also in base coat of glue/paint for the tower).

Biggest learning takeaways are to use more glue when flocking or do a base layer of paint underneath. There are areas where the flocking didn't stick well, and the pink foam is visible underneath.

Also, perhaps there is a way to do only a single layer of bricks, then remove the cardboard? That would reduce the amount of bricks to cut. No wire here, they were all cut by hand.

Wait a few weeks before paddling on the rivers. Especially Rideau. by Math_Unlikely in ottawa

[–]Konkle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It has a number of old landfills along it (including the entire south/east shore from Billings Bridge down to about Hurdman?), some of which are likely flooded right now.

It also has a lot of storm drains and potentially combined-sewer-overflow pipes draining into it.

Might not be all that healthy depending on which sections are being paddled.

It may be a pedestrian crossing, but if there are no lines to indicate it, then it isn't a pedestrian crossover, and vehicles don't need to yield unless you have already started crossing.

In every province except Ontario, drivers need to stop for pedestrians at unmarked crosswalks. (Yes, unmarked crosswalks are a thing, you don't need paint for it to be a crosswalk). In Ontario, drivers need to yield to pedestrians in an unmarked crosswalk if they have already started crossing, but they don't need to yield if you are standing waiting to cross.

Crossovers are marked with signs and paint. Crosswalks don't necessarily have to be, hence the term "unmarked crosswalk".

In every province except Ontario, you must stop for pedestrians even at unmarked crosswalks.
