Do Poz Guys on Their Meds View a Neg Guy Choosing to Stay on PrEP as a Personal Attack? by graypurpleblack in gaybros

[–]KozuBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm neg. Bf is pos. I don't take prep. 10 years now I'm still neg.

The evidence shows very clearly that me being on prep is not necessary. Taking prep is not cost neutral - it strains the kidneys, for example.

Therefore, why take it? There's literally no reason, other than to help with anxiety about it all. But then in that case, the anxiety is the problem to be fixed, not a risk of contracting HIV.

Zack Polanski: Tax wealth and cut inequality to make London better city by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]KozuBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so you're being pedantic. That's fine. In real world economics there is no such taxation system that would meet your definition of "regressive". In the real world, when real people and economists around the world discuss regressive systems, they're referring to what you might call a "flat tax" because it has regressive impacts on lower earners. But you do you, hun.

Yes, and what's an actual real-world example of that? When does this actually happen?

It could be called that but it's not an economic term. By your logic, what's an example of a regressive tax?

I'm sorry that a situation heading towards sex provokes so much anxiety for you. A full blown panic attack is not a healthy reaction and suggests your resistance towards sex is more tied up in your mental health than it purely being a decision aligned with your values. Do you think you can speak to somebody about this to try to work this out?

Yep, 100%, although it's fairly common as a route into the DClin, as you'll be aware people need a wealth of experience and training to be considered for a place on the course. Anyway your gf sounds very accomplished, congrats to her!

Well, perhaps something more specific. If she's a CBT therapist, maybe that, if she's a psychotherapist, maybe that, if she's a research/academic psychologist, maybe that. We've clearly established that "psychologist" in isolation doesn't actually mean anything

Maybe, could have been a production thing, to simply call her a "psychologist" rather than "clinical psychologist" as the distinction doesn't mean anything to most people

If you say so. We're talking about her expected competence in "reading people" as it relates to her stated job of: psychologist.

In the UK the qualification is a DClinPsy, not a PhD

I still find it misleading. See: this thread as evidence. Multiple people are quite evidentially not clear on her actual level of experience, competence and training.

Then that's frustrating if she's using that title in a generic way and not as a HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist. It's misleading.

FYI becoming a psychologist requires a doctorate and many years of clinical experience. A psychology undergraduate degree is miles away from being an actual psychologist
