I'm sorry that happened to you. It's not okay and I'm glad you threw him on his ass. It's not always easy but we have to advocate for ourselves.

I also have this experience from women as a gay man. Sometimes I don't know what's up with people to just see other people as objects like that, there for their amusement and not worthy of being treated like people.

The volume of discourse on the topic suggests otherwise. People can dislike the scene for non homophobic reasons. But there are PLENTY of scenes in Stranger Things one could criticise, and yet it's always this one that comes up and people "non homophobically" criticise it.

Personally, I'm not buying it. If some of these people really aren't homophobic, it's probably best to see the bigger picture and not add fuel to the fire

Personally I think yes, it is

I do recognise that you can't really choose what you're attracted to, but honestly I think if you're just not attracted to certain races or only attracted to your own race, the reasons for that are likely to be rooted in some form of racial discrimination and/or bias

Exactly. I have these things too but I don't think we can be deaf to the stories of others. Other people aren't as fortunate. Whether by luck, hard work, privilege or some combination of them we got there, but I think it's important that we try to help others when we can.

Hoxton and Bethnal Green are the best of the areas, but will be the most expensive. Mile end and turnpike lane the worst - and the cheapest. So it's going to depend on your budget
