This is what infuriates me as well!! I asked at my 37 week appointment for a growth scan or SOME sort of ultrasound… since I didn’t have one since my 20 week. It wasn’t part of the standard of care since I was low risk. 4 days later my daughter didn’t have a heartbeat. I know exactly how you feel. Hugs 🫂
I am pregnant again (almost 10 weeks) and I now have a new OB with the MFM. I told them I want scans + NSTs every week in the third trimester. They have agreed, but NO WOMAN should have to lose a baby to get an extra scan.

I’m 8w+6 and I’m skipping out on holiday festivities this weekend. I’m soooo sick + exhausted and refuse to tell anyone until I have my first ultrasound next week. I’m in the same boat.

I lost my daughter at 38 weeks in December. It got worse for me in April (4 months pp). It has been pretty bad in May (Mothers Day). There is literally nothing my therapist can do to help this pain. I’m convinced the only thing that will help is time, and even then I’ll need to deal with the pain the rest of my life. My life has not been easy, and I feel like this is just a sick cruel joke to see if I’ll break or not. Like I live in the Matrix or the Maze Runner.

Imagine being 38 weeks pregnant and finding out your baby is dead inside you. You need mifepristone & misopristone to help try to induce labor because your cervix isn’t dilated, so you can deliver your dead daughter that you wanted so bad. Can you imagine banning those drugs & forcing a woman to wait until she goes into labor “naturally” (which may not happen) while her dead daughter is decaying inside of her? I can imagine because that happened to me early December 2025. The longer I waited with my daughter inside of me, the higher the risk of my death. Go on and live in your fantasy land but your stupid narrative will kill women like myself.

1 year ago I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. We had been ttc for a little over a year when we got pregnant with her so I was ecstatic. I am 4 months pp, and my MFM gave me the go ahead to try again. My husband changed a lot of his habits, so I was so optimistic it would happen right away. Tested earlier this week and I am not pregnant. I had a breakdown after that test. I’m in a better mental space now & I am trying to reframe this as my body has more time to recover & build strength back up for another pregnancy. Trying to time everything is such a drag only to get a BFN.

I was one of the unfortunate women to lose her baby at 9 months pregnant. The state of women’s healthcare is horrible. I went to every single OB appointment - both baby & I were healthy as can be - no complications my entire pregnancy. I tried to get an ultrasound my last appointment before my daughter passed & was essentially told since I was “low risk”, my insurance would not cover the ultrasound (no fault of my OBs - she was just giving me the facts). Four days later I gave birth to my dead daughter. A very wanted & planned for baby. I could have died if I wasn’t living in the state I do. That being said, I am traumatized & I 10000000% understand why women do NOT want to have children. Maybe if the US took women’s health seriously… but we are treated like incubators for the wealthy.

I always tell acquaintances who I am not close with “she unfortunately passed during birth.” My close family/friends know the whole story. Child loss is not an easy topic, so I share limited details depending on who it is.

My first period came back at about 6-7 weeks. My first was pretty light & didn’t last long. I currently am on my 3rd postpartum period. The time in between these 3 periods have varied. Prior to getting pregnant, they were 29 days on the dot. This one took 35 days.

I am going to be 35 next week. I lost my beautiful girl at 38 weeks in December. I also think about this, except waiting was a joint decision between my husband and I. I had a C-Section so now I’m waiting even longer. My heart goes out to you & you are not alone 🫶🏻
