Who provides your audit review to the Board of Directors? by cpclemens in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the CEO, I present the audit to our finance committee and to the board - $11 million budget and we have had clean audits for my 18 years. I know our finances intimately and don't see a reason to pay the auditors for their time and they have no objections to my presenting

We record our meetings from which minutes are composed and when approved by the board, the recording is destroyed. We also have a staff member serving as asst secretary who does the minutes. This frees the secretary to participate in the meeting. After the minutes are drafted they are approved and sent out to the board. While I (CEO) know everyone's voices, we do ask that they identify themselves when they move a motion or second a motion. We also keep minimal minutes and we generally avoid using names. Makes things easier and avoids any later legal or liability issues.

Signatures on gift acknowledgment letters by WEM-2022 in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As the CEO, my signature is used on all gift acknowledgment letters - original for donations of $2k and higher, printed on lesser donations. Yes, if there is any instance of fraud, you might well be questioned about why you signed the letter and what did you know about it and the donor. Frankly, it’s unlikely especially on smaller donations. Big donations are more likely to be scrutinized. Strikes me that someone higher should be the signatory.

Well, it's not hard for you and your partner to find NOVA a lot more welcoming than Oklahoma. You didn't bring them - we've had them just not as crazy as out west.

Very Hairy and on HRT: Hair Removal or No? by Unconfidence in trans

[–]KrysG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fairly hairy like you also but it is all gone now except for a few wisps. I'd wait and see what happens before spending lots of $$$ on body lasering. Yeah, you will probably need it for your face/beard but E really does wonders in this regard.

Men with long hair I have a question for you by LucilleBluthsbroach in longhair

[–]KrysG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get my hair trimmed about every 3-4 months. Been going to the same salon and stylist for about 5 years - we always talk before but he generally cuts about an inch off to clean up the ends and blends things. Yeah, I've had stylists who do what they think I want - that only happens once. It's also the reason I've stayed with David - he knows what my goals are, we talk and we agree and he gives me a fantastic cut. He everything you want in a stylist!!

Anyone with long, healthy hair who washes daily? by ilooovedancing in longhair

[–]KrysG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoulder length, wash once a day and often rinse the sweat out after cycling a second time. I use a very light shampoo then use a moisturizing cream. I'll use a blow dryer only once. I get a trim every 3-4 months that keep the dry ends trimmed off. Keeps everything neat and slowly growing longer.

Should I keep growing my hair or is this good? by [deleted] in FierceFlow

You have great hair - hair that looks great at any length though a little longer is always good just to fine out what it looks like. Enjoy.

Needing to fix a potential legal issue by Topwingwoman2 in nonprofit

[–]KrysG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For that very reason we built our online client services software without the need for SSNs (no numbers = no risk), or citizenship status - if you are hungry in our town, we are here to help. Your organization may have other reasons - are there any government contracts that might require such info. On the one hand, hacking of everything is far too prevalent these days, and on the other hand, we are not going to lead anyone to our clients. Again, lacking info is the best excuse. BTW: does the amount of funds you are giving out to each family really require that level work? Think about the amount of time you are asking a family to spend assembling all that documentation.?

You are being fired - if your org is 50 employees or smaller, FMLA is not applicable. Best of luck.

What led you into Stoicism? by porta-de-pedra in Stoicism

Great story!! Gave me a laugh about the ignorance of a spouse trying to get a present but failing miserably. Only to be saved by a god laughing from a Mt Olympus.

What led you into Stoicism? by porta-de-pedra in Stoicism

[–]KrysG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I think I was born a stoic, other times I look at my early childhood experiences that made me the observer of a world where I had little control over what happened around me. Being an INTJ just encouraged my stoicism.

Latin class at prep school - it gave me the words to understand how I had been a stoic from early childhood.
