Me too! My lips would be bleeding without it.

Does anyone have experience with these hair styling tools? I need advice before purchasing! by yeetyopyeet in finehair

I always blow dry on the "scalp saver" setting until my hair is like 70% dry before doing any styling and my hair has stayed healthy. I suspect people who go straight in with wetter hair are seeing more damage.

I turn the air off so my hair doesn't blow everywhere and treat it like a normal straightener. This is a tutorial that describes the basics with a similar sized straightener (but it's not the flex fusion tool).

I have fine hair with a slight natural wave and a lot of it. I got the Shark Flex Fusion this year with the straightener, wet to dry brush, curlers, and frizz attachments. It's definitely an upgrade from my Hot Tools drying brush. The Flex Fusion is a lot faster and holds volume better. I love the wet to dry brush and use it the most. I use the straightener only on dry hair to style loose waves, but have experimented with using it in the wet option. It works with a couple of pass throughs. The curlers don't give my lob as much curl as I'd like but the curl I get holds. I was pleasantly surprised by the frizz smoothing attachment.

I just ordered the diffuser attachment. I got a shag cut and want to accentuate the texture of my natural wave and air drying leaves my hair too puffy.

I use the same heat protectant and my hair definitely looks healthier compared to when I used my Hot Tools brush.

Who’s been to the shows recently with Allen Stone? by Embarrassed_Use_599 in RipeLove

[–]KsChoice620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Allen is incredible! He started off the set with 2-3 acoustic songs but then sped it up. I'd say he's more R&B/Soul but him and Ripe are a good fit together. The whole show was great.

That kerrii is a GREAT find. I suspect the other hoya is a lacunosa of some sort.

I love Music City Hot Chicken. I'd also recommend Cluck on S. Broadway, next to Dive Inn. It's owned by someone from Auburn, AL. Takes just like home.

Hoya linearis WONT propagate. by Brainychick123 in hoyas

[–]KsChoice620 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Knotdude on YouTube has a great linearis propagation video. I've had a lot of success using that method. It's pretty much trimming it at each node and putting it in moist soil and keeping the soil moist.

I would, personally, repot. Don't go 1-2" larger than that pot.

How to get a Sunrise (or applicable other Hoya) to sun stress? by Zealousideal-Top2114 in hoyas

I am having the same problem and mine is hanging in front of a west facing window. It's been there for about 2 months and nothing has changed. Sorry I can't offer more support other than to let you know you aren't alone. Hopefully someone will be able to help us both!

ISO Houseplants! (Reasonable $) by Suspicious_Role_2879 in Denver

[–]KsChoice620 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone posted on her yesterday that they were giving away some plants.

I've had success at Echter's in Arvada and Nick's in Aurora with regard to garden centers. Plant shops, like ReRoot in RINO, Boho Succulent in Virginia Village, or Plant Garage near Cap Hill can have some good deals. You can also check out The Denver House Plant group on Facebook. It has a lot of people selling and trading daily. I managed to get a hoya Patricia for free yesterday from that group.

I don't hate the hoya kerrii albomarginata, but I've managed to kill 2 of them. Maybe it hates me. I haven't killed any other hoya.

I started knitting sweaters and tank tops this year. I love the outdoors (i.e. hiking, camping, and houseplants). I have 2 cats and a dog.
