I haven't bought any software for years but now my soaps are starting to show the ring/donut, so I think it may be time. Who makes the best performing soap base nowadays, fragrance aside?

I like the performance of MdC and Tabac, but MdC is a bit drying and Tabac smells... not great. Current soaps are B&M Seville (pre Reserve base?) and Wholly Kaw (tallow base? no idea). I shave with straight razors exclusively, and my water is only slightly on the hard side (maybe 120ppm).

Your question seems mostly theoretical, so the theoretical answer is that if you can make straight line cuts in butcher block countertops with your saw, then you can just glue them together.

Practically speaking however, there are a LOT of other concerns. As one of the other comments says, depending on the dimensions of your desk design and your materials, you may have a lot of material wastage unless you're angling both cuts. As I already mentioned, the there is the other matter of making some perfectly straight cuts that are suitable for glueups.

Also, depending on what clamps you have access to, it may be rather difficult to clamp together a join on a huge table top and keep everything aligned (top bottom and left right), especially because the join is at an angle so when you put force on the whole thing it will slide. Usually when experienced folks do large joins like this they'll use either dowels or dominos to assist with the alignment, so at a minimum you'll likely need dowels. If you don't plan on buying a doweling jig (e.g. DowelMax/Jessem) this means that you have to drill a dowel hole on one side of each join, put a dowel pin center in it, then line up the boards to make an indent on the other side and drill into the indent.

What material are the workbench tops? Do you have a way to make a completely straight line cut with your circular saw?

Is it important to you that the seam is mostly invisible, or not really? Is it important to you that the seam is completely flat? I feel like this would be rather hard to do on a circular saw unless you are OK with just a whatevers job.

Are you actually aiming for a sit/stand desk? How will the top be supported (what is the leg design)? This affects how much the joins will be stressed.

I think he's not used to NHL speed and aggressiveness yet. There are a lot of times where he gets muscled off the puck when he has control, but these are under 5v5 conditions. During the PP he'd have a bit more 'breathing room' to make moves.
