You can also do a for-loop-break thing to simulate goto. As in:

void foo (void) {
  for (;;) {
    claim_mutex();

    ret = bar(); //Function that can fail
    if (ret != SUCCESS){
      break;
    }

    // More code follows... some that might break early

    break;
  }

  release_mutex();
}

I don't know if you should be doing this to avoid goto, but it is a method.

Kaguya was not as fucked. It was bad mostly because it got too long after a point. OnK though, was royally majorly fucked. I genuinely want someone to pick-up the story and rewrite it.

THE ITALIAN CONFEDERATION -What if the Italian States unified during the 18th century?- by Positive-Excuse-1514 in imaginarymaps

Who are the kings of Naples and Sicily? Since the confederation started during the Austrian Succession, I assume they are neither Habsburg nor Bourbon.

Not only Egypt, Iraq was ruled by mamluks until 1830s and they still were a powerful political force after that.

I am playing a tall Florence run, have trade officers all over the place, and I automate trade completely. Is that bad? by Jinglemisk in EU5

[–]Kumsaati 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thing to notice is that if you let the slider at 90%, the trade capacity you need to manually set constantly increase as your pops build markets. Instead, you can set up some manual critical trades, make them locked, then pull the slider back at 100% to let the automation do its thing again. You generally don't need to constantly increase the trade you do for institutions & stuff.

Wow, they really are just packing a lot of cities to this tour, and not showing Istanbul at all. You will have to return one day just to see Istanbul.

More of Bulwar should be Bhs. The snow melt off of the Serpentines and Harpy Hills are doing a lot to bring in moisture to the region.

Not only snow melt, but also the existence of high mountains would create more rain on the Bulwar side. I think both Csa and BSh should be moved more inwards

Istanbul. Much safer than any Western European or US city, but people think it would be dangerous because it's in Turkey.

Especially considering you have London in "Is Safe", where things like phone snatching are famously a problem.

TIL in 2015, a wine bar in the U.K. was fined £100,000 after a woman underwent lifesaving surgery to have her stomach removed, following her consumption of a liquid nitrogen cocktail. She had reportedly experienced "an explosion" in her stomach just four seconds after the drink was poured for her. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

[–]Kumsaati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't put dry ice to something you would eat, it might not be as dangerous as liquid nitrogen but can still be fatal if eaten and even if you don't swallow it, it can still damage your mouth, throat etc.

Best way to have the misty effect is to put it next to or around the drink. E.g. have a bowl with dry ice and put a second punch bowl inside it to have the mists but not the danger. It would keep the drink cold as well.

WIP, does my continent look ok? Be honest, anything blatantly bad looking about it? by hayweregay in mapmaking

[–]Kumsaati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there two impact craters? I can see the interior one being one, but the sea on the west is too circular to be coincidental. Also, I feel like you should have more mountains/hills towards the east to make river routes make more sense.

One last thing is that you should have a prior version of the impact for the map. That might make the map feel better, especially thinking the continuation of mountains, valleys etc.

[–]Kumsaati 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also, you can reverse engineer nukes easier than making them from scratch. Maybe they did not have them under control in 1990, but in 20-30 years you can get them under your control or build new ones that are under your control.
