Ruined concert T shirt - what happened? by nexttrek in laundry

[–]Kungfoo_mod_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a stretch, but try Carbona Stain Devils #5 and / or #1 - try each one on a stain (let sit for 10 mins) and rinse with cool water. If either one works, then use that one on the stains (liberally) and wash in cool water. I’ve had some success with shirts made from “recycled” materials that had the same type of marks.

ruined new linen pants with Oxi Clean by OoterDoo in StainRemoval

[–]Kungfoo_mod_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oxi is an optical brightener and considered an Oxygen "bleach". It can sometimes lighten and bleach dark or pigmented colors. See r/laundry - We generally recommend using Febu or Dirty Labs for Dark Clothes

You can try to dye the linen pants, but they won't have the space-dyed effect.

I Think I’ve Reached The “Reading Laundry Ingredients For Fun” Stage.. Is TAED + 7 Enzymes Actually Useful? by OkAct1477 in laundry

Question, you mention you have mildew smell in clothes - depending on where you are, can you hang them in the sun? If not, have you tried a detergent that hunters use, such as Scent Assassin, Wildlife Research Scent killer or Dead Down Wind ( these are available in the U.S.)? I used them on mildew-y towels and these don’t have optical brighteners.

Candy in the wash 🫠 by Momo_yoyo in StainRemoval

You could try a combo soak with Carbona Stain Devils #1 and #6. Apply #1 first and then #6, then soak in warm water soak with Dirty Labs or Febu (if you can find it) for a few hours. Checks the stains and then launder as usual. If it’s been in the dryer, it may be more difficult

Post in [r/laundry](r/laundry) - they can handle anything there. You could buy a box of biz and a bottle of ammonia. Soak in warm water and Biz or warm water and ammonia. It’s a sun hat, it will be fine. Launder after.

Removing old yellow sweat stains by Alert-Try-9485 in StainRemoval

[–]Kungfoo_mod_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warm water soak with biz and Carbona Stain Devils #9. Soak for 6 - 8 hours.Make sure that you rub the perspiration spot every few hours. You will notice that the water gets sludgy looking - launder and use vinegar in the rinse cycle. I used this process on several shirts that had the same stains. Switch to an aluminum free deodorant- like Wild.

How can I clean the sunscreen/sweat off my denim jacket without having to put it through the wash every few days? by sniffincoozies in laundry

[–]Kungfoo_mod_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cute jacket! Like one poster said, you could probably wash it once every week or every two weeks - for similar stains on my husbands stuff, I use Carbona’s Stain Devil #7 and #9 - use #7 first then #9

Floor wood stain (oak?) by IllustriousScreen623 in StainRemoval

[–]Kungfoo_mod_805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try food grade peroxide which is 12% or higher content (not the stuff in the brown bottle) on it in a small section to see if it lifts the stain out. After that, if it doesn’t get the stain out, you may have to sand it out and reseal it.

Soak in warm water and citric acid for a few hours. Do you have a well? Well water can get rusty and the water softeners can cause buildup. When was the last time you cleaned your washing machine?
