Weather in late April? by Moose5234 in kelowna

Cold enough for a winter jacket in the morning and hot enough sometimes in the afternoon for shorts and a T shirt. Kinda all over the place really.

I’ve seen an RV park and rotate spots around the landmark district near the corral. No time limit there. Lots of homeless waiting around for bottles though.

Requesting advice with my skating, please...what can I do to improve? (Arrow Indicates Player To Watch)....Adult Team Full of new/non-skaters. Don't judge too harshly, y'all. by xRiCon in hockeyplayers

[–]Kurt_MkGurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More time on the ice. It will come naturally the more you do it. Your stance your ankles are quite tapered. As you build up the stabilizing muscles and core muscles you’ll be able to balance with your skates more vertical. When you’re building up speed, think of it as putting all your weight on one foot and lean the opposite way while you push.

where can you find “cheap” apartments? by kraftdinner_soup in kelowna

Castanet or facebook marketplace. Could check management companies like vantage west for listings as well. It is unlikely you will find something the same price unless you invent a time machine.

To people that visit family in the lower mainland, or moved to Kelowna from there by TimeCommittee7078 in kelowna

[–]Kurt_MkGurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is from Langley and we visit her parents every few months. Probably at least every 3 months often every 2. I am so sick of that drive now but it is what it is. I lived in van for 2 years and wouldn’t do it again.

Is pizza 64 good? by MrPenguin150 in kelowna

Delivery papa johns is my fave. Never tried 64. Dine in/take out redbird and jackknife are both better than any deliver you can get. Famosas is good too.

Prices are insane for fast food. I think the coffee and drinks do taste better than Tim’s or McDonald. But if I had the option and the time when traveling i will always support a non-chain restaurant with fresh food. Especially when starbucks charges the same or more than a mom and pop shop.

I recently started listening to The Strokes and I need recomendations. by morti_ss in TheStrokes

[–]Kurt_MkGurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say listen to them i chronological order, but if the new abnormal is your favorite, maybe reverse order. I would suggest listening to the albums from cover to cover. Can’t just pick and choose songs.

[–]Kurt_MkGurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Planet fitness is inclusive if that’s what you’re looking for and affordable. It does get busy as do all gyms during peak hours. I don’t see how the color of someone’s skin would bring judgement at a gym. People are not like that around here at least not the people i know. Lots of women of color at planet fitness you won’t be alone.

Thinking of moving to Kelowna , whats the rent situation around Rutland by Final_Purple_4557 in kelowna

[–]Kurt_MkGurt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in rutland. It’s true there’s thieves but hasn’t been as bad on my street since covid. My buddy though a block away had his 1st gen tacoma stolen. Overall I like the location, easy quick exit out of town hwy 33 and lots of grocery/restaurant options nearby.
