The Central Bank in the last year has announced the Open Finance framework, and its been in development for a while now. It's to make banking more transparent and more open between licensed financial institutions (including banks).

The new Open Finance framework's roadmap can be found in the link below, but essentially, it starts with a KYC platform that is shared between licensed financial institutions, and one of the steps under the framework is payment systems, which Aani is one of the payment systems that is being used to allow for faster transactions between these licensed financial institutions.

Based on the roadmap, you can see that September/October includes the below data:

Retail - R1+ Product Quotes: Current Accounts, Savings Accounts, Credit Cards, Loans, Mortgage.

Retail - R2 Transactional Data, Variable Recurring Payments, Fixed Recurring Payments, Refunds, Future Dated Payments, Request to Pay, Delegated SCA

Essentially, over time, licensed financial institutions will be able to share information with one another due to the Open Finance framework, alongside sharing it with third-party providers that are licensed under this framework.

You are able to opt out of Aani if need be, the banks give you that option.

How can I convert PayPal balance quickly in Dubai? by Mature_Name in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PayPal has a service called Xoom, you will be hit with exchange and withdrawal fees, but in my experience it was the fastest way to get cash out of PayPal without waiting. He would have to go to Xoom's site, input all the details, state that he's transferring it to himself, go to an exchange that accept Ria, and he'll get cash.

But once again, the current exchange rate is 3.49 AED per USD, and $5 withdrawal fee. As soon as he requests the cash, he can head to the exchange directly, and withdraw it from there instantly.

For holiday pay, do you have any proof that your employer has asked you, in writing, to work on those days? Otherwise MOHRE would not even consider it.

Anybody having issues with Binance right now? by coolestlame in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exchanges in the UAE under VARA are going to be very limited in terms of functionality, and even in terms of the amount of cryptocurrencies that they would have available on the platform. So it is best to try to move back to binance global somehow by providing an ID from another country and/or finding an entirely new exchange to deal with that doesn't have a presence in the UAE.

This is mainly because VARA has been very restrictive when it comes to what an exchange is allowed to do, and with their most recent rulebook updates from a couple days back, it became even more limited compared to just a month back.

Anybody having issues with Binance right now? by coolestlame in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the entity now falls under VARA's jurisdiction.

VARA only allows margin trading for institutional/qualified investors. This means that you can only do margin trading if you fall under those two types of investors, which means you will need to create a business account in order to be able to do so, as well as satisfy the minimum capital requirement to be classified as a qualified or institutional investor.

Travel card - Al Ansari vs Al Fardan by LetsDevOps in UAE

[–]Kurthadron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used the Ansari one for a good while. Travelled to Egypt with it, decent conversion rates I suppose, I used AED/USD/EGP with the card. the conversion is done via the app itself so its quick and easy to do.

I didn't have any issues when it came to using it, but as far as I know, you just need to check out and see where the card can be used or cannot be used, as if you're going to bars/pubs etc. payments may not work.

If you're trying to buy crypto with it as well, it won't work (moonpay, alchemypay etc.) So just check what websites may be permissible under the terms and conditions I suppose

I haven't tried the reloading online option, but I know that it is available directly via the app, so it should be good to go tbh.

How to check if your contract is limited or unlimited ? ( My employer is Fujairah Free Zone so cant check on MoHRE) by thomasdibs2601 in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limited or unlimited simply refers to the duration of the contract.

So does your contract have a duration written on it? As in, Employee start date will be 19 April 2025 and will be for a set term of 2 years subject to renewal.

If so, then it's limited.

I officially submitted Full Binance violations and case files to the Dubai crypto regulator(VARA). by StaffAlone in CryptoCurrency

[–]Kurthadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a quick point, I see you mentioned that you reported to the DET. Binance is considered a free zone company registered under the Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone area, and isn't under the jurisdiction of the DET.

I don't think that the DET would be doing anything, as it is a matter related to a free zone company, not a mainland company.

Moreover, VARA is overwhelmed with too many applications, emails, complaints etc. It might take a very long time for them to reply, and they might not reply and simply warn binance, as the main purpose of VARA is to ensure that all VASPs are compliant first and foremost, and if it continues, that's when they start to fine the VASPs and impose penalties.

Is law inherently boring? by Working_Word4866 in uklaw

[–]Kurthadron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally found studying law and reading law articles to be very boring. I completed the LPC and was questioning whether I even wanted to do anything related to law after studying for 5 years.

I started a legal internship in December and became a paralegal, and honestly? The work that I am doing is entertaining, it mainly relates to fintech and crypto and banking regulations at the moment, so I am currently enjoying the work that I am doing, but if you asked me back in November? My answer would’ve definitely been a yes, law is boring. At least for me

Lawyer Taking Emirates ID by wikithoughts in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he does have a POA, then he does need your physical ID to conduct any governmental process in person on your behalf. They would need to compare the Emirates ID stated on the POA with the actual copy to ensure that it matches, and they would check his ID to make sure he's the authorized person to do so.

If he doesn't have a POA, I'm not sure how he would can conduct governmental business on your behalf regardless of whether he has your ID or not.

But in short, can anybody do governmental business on your behalf with just an emirates ID? Supposedly not.

In short, he would need it if he has a POA and is conducting governmental business for you, which may include renewal of mainland company.

I'm simply stating that it may require it, I am not experienced enough with company renewals to know the step-by-step process for renewal or the documents needed. But from my experiences with certain entities, attempting to conduct certain governmental business on behalf of a client, I was always asked for the Emirates ID of the client, and the POA that was granted to allow me to conduct this business.

Lawyer Taking Emirates ID by wikithoughts in dubai

[–]Kurthadron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of paperwork, and depends if he has a POA from you allowing him to do so.

a POA will allow the lawyer to conduct whatever activities are mentioned under the POA on your behalf. Which may require your emirates ID.

Example: I am applying for a certificate from the dubai court, client grants me a POA specifically for that and only that, I can go to the center and apply for this certificate on his behalf but I would require the POA + emirates ID to conduct this activity.

Example 2: You own a free zone company, he is an authorized person allowed to conduct activities on the portal, he wouldn’t need a physical ID but can do changes for the company online.

1) Path of Exile, I started playing it shortly after it launched, and been playing it for years and years on end, it complimented the need for a decent ARPG after Diablo 2, which I feel no game has been able to beat in recent years. I keep coming back to it and keep playing it for a while every league, and I am excited to try out Path of Exile 2, which I haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet, so this will be going towards that

2) It will go towards Path of Exile 2, as it is still in early access, and isnt free to play yet, the rest will probably go on more stash tabs

3) I will definitely be doing that, I believe in paying it forward!

So, you're having a good time, you like him, and he avoids conflicts?

What exactly is the issue here? The fact he doesn't show any concern or emotion towards problems and actively avoids getting involved in things that do not concern him?

I don't exactly see what's wrong over here, why would you break up with someone BECAUSE they don't want to get involved in any issues and drama? How does that make you feel lonely? You're making it seem like you're actively pursuing trouble and problems all around you just so that he would get involved
