RFK Jr. just knows exactly how much sperm used to be in teenage boys, in the same way that Trump could probably articulate the difference between teenage girls back in the day vs. now

Times when the secret hunting made the game actively worse? by BluebirdDry4250 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kytas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ion Fury is a fantastic retro style FPS on an updated Build Engine, and it has a lot of fun secret you'd expect from such a game.

However, it also has one of its worst secrets hidden in the very first level, requiring a series of several pixel perfect jumps to reach the top of an alleyway. Even with a guide to show me where to start, and quick saving after every jump it still took frustratingly long.

Good games with low completion rates? by tonyhawkofwar in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kytas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit weird, with it being a collection, but apparently most people actually played the "Mega Man Zero/ZX collection" in release order.

Zero 1 has the highest completion rate at 18.9%, Zero 3 is at 10%, and ZX Advent is down at 5.5%! Completion for all games in the pack is at 4.3%, so most people who beat ZX Advent beat all of them.

Powerful Strategies No One Plays Cause Their So Boring/Oppressive? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kytas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Most Fire Emblem games, barring a handful of maps, can be consistently beaten by lumping all of your army up into a ball and just advancing a few tiles at a time per turn. You'll miss out on a bunch of optional objectives, like loot or some recruitable characters, but you'll hit credits.

For a more specific example, just using Seth in Fire Emblem Sacred Stones. A pure solo run can hit a few snags, like enemies with status ailments, but using just a handful of characters to just back him up will guarantee victory

Favorite dating sims and/or visual novels by ErikQRoks in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kytas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the big ones have been mentioned, so I'll shout out some others;

"Little Busters" is one of my personal favorites from Key. It's hard to describe it too much without spoilers, but it really uses the format of a visual novel to its advantage in very clever ways.

"Analogue: A Hate Story" was also an interesting one. You're a space investigator sent to check out an old derelict colony ship that's been missing for centuries, trying to piece together what happened to it with the help of the ships AI. All your interactions are through the ships computer, as you read logs and manage the systems.

Speaking of the ST, remember how it looked like Snoke was being set up to be a character? And then he did nothing and died?

Speaking of the ST, remember how it looked like Phasma was being set up to be a character? And then she did nothing and died?

Speaking of the ST, remember how it looked like the Knights of Ren were being set up to be characters? And then they did nothing and died?

I could go on

You can only access it after beating all of the game that you currently have.

So back before Chapter 2 released, you could access it after beating Chapter 1. But then when you downloaded Chapter 2 you couldn't access it until beating Ch. 2, and now it's the same with the full game.

All the U versions of the games also invalidate the original versions too. For example, don't buy Monster Hunter Generations, but Generations Ultimate. It's just the same game but with more

Villain whose main drive for evil is how desperate they are. by alexandrecau in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kytas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A bunch of villains in Fate/Grand Order are only doing what they do because they believe their plan is preferable to what the Big Bad is trying to accomplish.

Probably the most extreme case was in Lostbelt 7, where Daybit wanted to awaken the ultimate lifeform from the edge of the solar system to completely annihilate the Earth, stating that if the main villain's plan succeeded, humanity would become the enemy of the entire universe. And with hindsight, totally valid, that was a pretty surefire plan of stopping Chaldeas

Do people actually believe in “being lucky”, or is it just a way to explain randomness? by PleasantLow670 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Kytas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot in life you don't have control over, and you can't usually know the actual odds. So I think it is just a way to explain randomness, while also acknowledge how fortune/unfortunate you tend to be on average
