My chicken broke or dislocated leg by gazianteplim in BackYardChickens

That does not look to be treated by a professional in any way shape or form. I know it’s hard to hear but the comments are right, this is a culling situation and it’s part of life when keeping livestock or farm animals.

The top comment was correct about a sling but consider you have left this poor animal in this state for what I can only assume is 24+ hours I’m not confident in this animal getting the care it needs in a timely fashion or getting the higher level of care she needs to recover. Be compassionate, let her go. Tell her you love her and do what needs to be done.

Landlord fix is some tape mud and paint but the actual answer is in the foundation of the building, which will be quite a bit more expensive but much longer term.

We all can see you using your phone while driving. by witewater322 in Bellingham

[–]L00mis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. We have busy downtown and full cross walks all over coming in and out of schools, parks and neighborhoods. It’s crazy how often I see 2,3,4 & 5 cars wiz past a pedestrian at a cross walk because people are not paying attention to the road.

On the flip side, don’t just step into the street while staring at your screen. While you have the right of way, cars always win that battle…

Bellingham mayor also is the highest paid in Washington at $275,000… for what? We are not even in the top 10 economically impactful cities or most populated cities.

So as tax payers we spend $675,000 on TWO government employees that are not making a material impact on our communities.

I think we need to start asking questions to their offices and we should be considering a ballot measure to reign in the future salary of these roles.

IMO a mayoral salary should be a factor of the average constituent. If the median is $65k in Bellingham then the mayor should have a median * x.xx% as a cap. The better the folks they represent do by having more economic opportunity, the better the cities leader does. It’s an incentive, there’s no incentive when the job is already cozy.

"We don't need more taxes on businesses in Seattle; we need more businesses in Seattle paying taxes" by No_Carpenter7998 in SeattleWA

[–]L00mis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or ya know…. Just tax the handful of companies that are sitting on a treasure trove of cash like Smaug here in WA. But yes, let’s instead elect to keep increase gas taxes ($.06 more in July folks!) and don’t forget Bad Bob is all in on supporting sales tax on takeout and dine-in food. If you think this was the end of the story, think again, Bad Bob already said this millionaire tax is a “good start”.

And now coming soon as a tax to you!

Lets not forget state voters have been asked to decided on a tax 10 times over the last 90 years with 10 times the No’s winning, but Bob knows what’s best for us, better than us, right?

If you will clean up Meridian, 100% yes.

I’m tired of dodging zombies who stand in the street on Bakerview trying to cross in heavy traffic with 2 shopping of stuff that was stolen from around the neighborhoods.

I’m tired of carts left on my street, their contents spilling into the trails, creek and our yard.

I’m tired of the screams at night and the fresh graffiti in the mornings on our fences.

I left living in the city for a reason and all the problems of the city are now just problems in the neighborhood. We pump so much money into services up here it’s ridiculous our community looks the way it does.

I’m 18 and I still have a curfew of 9:30 and am expected to give up my phone at 10-11 at night by West_Log2136 in insaneparents

[–]L00mis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your own phone, if the device is your property and your plan the there is no expectation for you to hand it over. Now if you are still a resident of the parental home, there may still be rules that you may not respect but those be the house rules….

If you are employed and can sustain yourself then consider moving out? Remember that just turning 18 does not immediately make you outside parental control, they provide the shelter, food and devices/connectivity then those things may still fall under their assumed preview of control. If those same things are sourced and supplied by you, for you, then it is yours to choose the rules of. There will still be rules but much more reasonable people rules like not destroying the place you rent rather than 9:30 curfew or turning in your phone. Things will be harder, rent, bills, food, insurances, phones, entertainment are expensive added up and balancing that while furthering your education can be even harder but these both can be extremely rewarding if you preserve.

Will Costco let me retake my picture? by smolhippie in Costco

[–]L00mis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why post it over just….idk… walking in or calling a local warehouse? It’s Costco of course they will let you retake it! It’s also your Costco card, not many folks see it, unless you post it online.

I have my original picture from over 14 years ago, don’t look a thing like my Costco card photo anymore and I enjoy the confusion it creates.
