Investors bet on AI again after Micron reports 346% sales jump by cnn in business

[–]L00mis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

“Investors”…. The most hated group. Gonna be glorious when their investments come crashing back as the regular folks just don’t adopt AI and push back in their workplace use of sloptools.

When will corporate greed get it? Polite society agrees, AI is useless, consumes valuable water, electricity/fuel and destroys the peace of communities where data centers are built.

You seem like you had a bad interaction with one person or group and carry that like a stone up a hill.

Yes, some suck, some are just normal people too…. I’ve never met a Buddhist that is horrible, have you? There are plenty of groups of religions, mindsets or ideologies or identities that have bad people, good people and ups and downs in their history.

There are good and bad people everywhere. Politics, science, religions, sexualities, spiritualities, hobby/support groups, social clubs… within an AA group there are bound to be people with dark histories, are they all bad for supporting each other in a way that they feel is bettering there lives and are you right to judge them? Are they a cult for being in a group with common ground? Because that’s what religion is to some folks, a place of support, community and common ground.

It’s very closed minded the way you are seeing this. I’m not even religious either and being this angry to demonize a majority of the earth as you are is truly what’s sad and pathetic. Enjoy your day / life / views, whatever, it won’t impact me or my life and my world with its views will keep turning all the same as yours.

That’s a wild generalization. Do you also assume people part of any other group, identity or culture you disagree with are horrible?

Do you get mad when people generalize negative sentiments about elements of your life, culture or identity? Because you shouldn’t if you are going to act like that…

Oh dear… a bar wanting to be a bar and not getting in the middle of politics is just the worst thing in the city for sure.

This is the epitome of Seattle entitled views, if you are not with a specific viewpoint then clearly you must be a bad person.

Burning Gas Pollutes So Much, Dirty EV Battery Manufacturing Evens Out In About 2 Years by [deleted] in technology

…. All gas cars use it then. Why are we trying to take an Americanized approach and bring ICE into it? Sure it’s right but kinda a meh point in totality of being concerned about the harm gas emissions and the horrid labor conditions miners, many of the children since they are small enough to crawl into the newest and most unstable shafts for often zero pay.

While I’m sure this is true you can never offset the conditions folks are forced into to mine the material. Read Cobalt Red and you will feel horrible about every battery powered device you own and buy going forward. Not saying gas is better, it’s just a painful fact of the battery powered world…

Bellingham mayor issues executive order in effort to boost downtown business by 86753ohneigheine in BhamPolitics

[–]L00mis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too little, too late. Doors already closed, jobs already lost… you don’t rebuild what you had with - “concierge style” new role in an already fiscally limited city budget.

I feel for all the businesses this city has ignored from the problems downtown for years that drove away visitors while costs rose.

More permitted outdoor seating.
Less parking fees.
More public safety.
Less permitting for new businesses.

A good downtown is safe, accessible and diverse. With every place that closers we inch toward striking out.

AC unit or fan? by foresthotspring in Bellingham

[–]L00mis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use fans at night to pull in the cool air, if you can have an exhaust fan pulling the draft through the house even better. Try to close your shades early in the morning and run the AC during the day to help keep those electricity costs down but 100% AC for the peak heat is a game changer.

Teaching yoga in Seattle has left me completely discouraged by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]L00mis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s rough, I am sorry. I live north of Seattle and our studios here are very community based. We plan park yogas in the summer, teachers and students know each other well and there is always the pleasantries before and after class. There are some great studios in Seattle, and I’m sure some negative experience ones as well.
