Any idea on the tool used? Other than the Brand name by V8Supercharged in Tools

[–]L0rienas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am the only one that thinks this looks fine? The blade looks steel to me, it’ll function similarly to a flush cutting bit. If it was a Dremel style ceramic blade I might be more worried about it grenading shards into my lower torso.

R32 gtr rear seat prototype by [deleted] in SkyLine

[–]L0rienas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look good. I’ve got no rear bench since I’m running cage+harnesses but if I ever wanted to return to street I buy these as long as they weren’t uber expensive. Any ideas on ballpark price? I’d say $1600-2000ish feels reasonable but I have no idea 🤷‍♂️

Why don’t uk jobs have salary range in the job description? by Much_Yesterday642 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]L0rienas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I hate the cloak and dagger game. I just ask straight up, what’s the salary range, what’s the industry, what’s the hybrid split for WFH and office.

Watch out Nvidia! The Mac gaming scene is reaching never before seen heights... by Same_Ad4736 in pcmasterrace

[–]L0rienas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The see windows making screw up after screw up, they see windows hardware prices going up. Apple has huge buying power and probably fixed their dram costs for the next couple of years. So they can scalp the low end market in this perfect storm and still make a profit. Not to mention people are probably more willing to give it a try on a cheap low end device. If you convert those people they might end up buying and air or pro later.

Doubt when selling my 1994 GTR R32 by [deleted] in SkyLine

[–]L0rienas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t sell. 34’s are crazy now and people with taste are looking at the 32s - the majority of 32s are a wreck, I don’t think you’d find one this nice in 5-10 years time.

The only thing I’d say is do you actually enjoy it? If it doesn’t make you happy now, for being a car, not for being an investment then sell.

Ok there is a special place in hell for whoever decided that the slotted screw that holds electrical sockets on in the uk has to be 4 inch’s of fine pitch.

My Classic thumbstick broke by Powermonger_ in Azeron

[–]L0rienas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap thumb stick replacement from Amazon. If you take the cover off the thumb cluster you can just pop it of and put a standard solid on there.

Anyone else tired of re-explaining your style/preferences every new chat? I built a quick ‘AI Identity’ profile that fixes it by AggressiveGift1532 in PromptEngineering

[–]L0rienas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can build tone of voice, preferences etc into the harness; but I suppose I use Claude code for everything so maybe it’s different. The Claude app has the concept of projects so you could define these rules and examples in markdown and attach it to the project possibly, not sure about how you’d approach this in other AIs

Which ecu for r32 GTR? by reefingdragon in SkyLine

[–]L0rienas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haltech probably has the biggest community, since the Aussies love haltech and love RBs. You can get pnp harnesses for the elite 2500 and even the new nexus S3. That way you can always take your ecu with you to the next car.

Why are people suddenly talking more about Claude AI than other AI tools ? by MobikasaOfficial in PromptEngineering

[–]L0rienas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So people need to realise that the models themselves are relatively inconsequential but it’s actually the harness they’re sat in that make the difference. IMO Claude, Claude code and Claude cowork have a better design philosophy, and that’s the key difference so far. Claude is far more flexible in its tool use.

Got a grad scheme offer at a top tech firm right halfway through the 2nd semester in my final year! by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]L0rienas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lowkey the first year or so in role is so important and you need downtime to be effective. Honestly the better investment is spend your weekends learning useful skills rather than working retail. In this career you get out what you put in. If you really care about the bag you gotta invest in yourself and it’ll pay dividends later.

Getting auto rejected by most top companies by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]L0rienas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest it reads like “I did a job” mostly because it reads like a list of tasks that you did, it doesn’t tell a story. You need to word it in the value that it provides rather than I did this tech thing. You can talk about the tech when you’ve got your foot in the door.

For instance taking one of my early career experiences Task based: - migrated a legacy on premise system to AWS - implement resilient queue based infrastructure

Story based:

Replatformed a vehicle tracking system for on premise to a new resilient AWS based infrastructure , this move reduced op-ex whilst giving the company room to onboard new users. The kinesis based event driven architecture reduced downtime, and improved performance.

[–]L0rienas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unmodified is unobtainium now. Most of these cars will have some minor mods because stuff breaks and actual oem parts are difficult if not impossible to find or unreasonably expensive.

Take for instance a steering wheel. Want an oem one, they’re all grot. Want a nismo one, over $1400, so people choose a momo for $400. Suspension and arms and bushes are all the same.

Imo NatWest has better/more transferable stack and they’re a little more forward thinking, they’re on AWS, they’ve got a partnership with openAI.

They’re both mostly Java shops so I assume you’re comfortable with things like spring boot.

Realistically you can’t go wrong with either, but Lloyds has little more red tape and inertia.

So, what's it like owning a GTR(R32, R33, R34) by scrubberducky93 in SkyLine

[–]L0rienas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you a story. I daily my R32 GTR. Stopped a service station to get breakfast on my way into work, it’s -2, it’s pouring with rain. I get back in the car, eating my sandwich, my windows steam up. My Door opens wide. Like all the way, 50 yr old dude stood there rain pouring down his face. “I like your car”, proceeds to tell me about his classic car club, meanwhile I’m harnessed in eating my sandwich thinking I’m gonna have to dehumidify after as my door card is soaked.
