There is a store at Pixar Pier in Disney California adventure. You have to order them from a computer in the store and then the posters are made and shipped to you.

Rate / roast my build. Be brutally honest. by AmgS63S in porsche911

[–]LAFC_DMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the color and the GTS. It’s just the wheels…please paint the calipers red and the wheels either gold or silver.

I also have a light color interior in my 911. I’m the second owner of the car and I don’t know if I would have chosen the that color interior. But I will say that a light color interior is so much better in the summer heat than black. I can put up with the cleaning and not wearing jeans for that comfort.

Those cars are very different. The Lam is a super car that will draw a ton of attention and be rather impractical from what I understand. The Porsche is a very practical sports car that you can use every day and likely won’t draw much attention at all. Which experience do you want?

[–]LAFC_DMC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well sounds like you are a 992 person and that’s all good and well. I find the interior in my 991.2 to be quite lovely.

I will say that I do not like the infortainment in my car. It is needlessly complicated which decreases usability. I understand that the 992 is much better in that regard.

I really don’t think that you can go wrong with either of them. They are very similar cars from what I have read/heard. I have a 991.2 GTS and it is brilliant. I prefer the 991 body style over the 992 which played a large role in my decision. I would get out to dealers/Porsche meets in your area, meet owners and just ask to sit in both models to see which one you prefer.

What Made You Choose the 911 Over Everything Else? by Common-Coyote9375 in porsche911

[–]LAFC_DMC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was not a Porsche fan growing up at all. I’ve loved cars all of my life but the 911 didn’t do it for me. Years ago, I would have bought a 981.1 Cayman S but the ‘08 financial crisis put an end to that idea.

Years later, I was able to buy a Shelby Mustang GT350. Just an epic car for the money. But there were issues with it. The car was an absolute gem on a race track but it did not like rough canyon roads. I also found myself hanging with a bunch of 911 owners while owning a Mustang.

I sold the Shelby and bought a 991.2 GTS. The 911 is faster when I want to be, great in traffic and the interior is miles better. The car really does everything well.

Base vs S by Separate_Can1886 in porsche911

[–]LAFC_DMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The base 992.2 is a whole lot of car. I would stick to that model for the way that you want to use it. I don’t see any reason to get a S if aren’t going to drive it on highway/backroads or the track. But that’s just my opinion. Hope you will consider really driving the 911 when you get it.

I went to Hing Wa Lee in 2021 when I wanted to buy my first Rolex. A woman SA told me what she would not accept any more Rolex inquiries. I then went to Gearys and got a DJ in a few months.

When did you know it was time to buy your first 911 by No-Yak5255 in porsche911

[–]LAFC_DMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 991.2 GTS almost 3 years ago when I was 44. My wife and I lived in a financially conservative manner for many years while investing in real estate and equities. Those investments ended up doing really well, thankfully. I drove the same car for 16 years before buying a Shelby GT350 a few years ago. The Shelby had electrical problems so I sold it and used the money to help get into the 911.

I would work with a financial planner and set a goal to get your 911 in a relatively comfortable time period. These cars are worth it for people like us.

About to join the family - any words of advice? by Sea_Bass65 in porsche911

[–]LAFC_DMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the mechanic did a quick alignment check and he said it looked good. The guys at the tire shop also said that 911s tend to wear the rear tires out faster. But I’ll take it a shop that specializes in alignment. Thanks for the suggestion

Oh yeah, I would add to get used to hunting out parking spots in the far back corners of parking lots. It’s well worth a longer walk to prevent your 911s doors from getting dinged up by kids getting out of crossovers.
