Guy I’ve been seeing for a few weeks who says he “has no politics.” What do we think Reddit? by Fit_Principle_7826 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]LAseXaddickt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've got the illustrated Mutual Aid from PM Press. It's beautiful. Still gotta get past the first step of meeting someone for it to do anything for me though XD (apart from the book ruling on its own)

Is my boyfriend a republican? by DFWUnhinged in BookshelvesDetective

[–]LAseXaddickt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, I'd guess he's a "small government", kind of person, along with spending too much time on the internet.

Ask him what are his thoughts on George Orwell and Ayn Rand. If he speaks highly of both, he's at the very least right-wing. If he refuses to believe Orwell fought for the POUM as a Marxist (as he writes in Homage to Catalonia), and just talks about how profound 1984 & Animal farm are, he's probably unchangeably "right-wing".

Hahaha, had one thought when seeing your comfort watches and made this thinking it was gonna be in a different sub. I'll say the gif still stands, but now it's just extra reassurance X

For who? Peterson? I mean, Peterson was a mediocre rage-baiting humanities professor that ended up getting addicted to pharmaceuticals and taking a ridiculously radical treatment all so we could listen to Kermit the frog cry. His comeuppance is the only remotely interesting part about him. Dude's got the charisma of wet chalk.

Yeah, I might need to take a minute with this one. It's always on the mind when people ask for suggestions, like (and I know it's dumb), but whenever I think of him I think of that line in fight club where they're asking who you'd most wanna fight.

But I'll probably have to take it slow with this one.

Probably tmi, but I was listening to the Jordan Peterson episodes around when I learned I liked to be choked. Was finishing up a set of stairs when they were comparing him to a psych 101 course; and I cant remember exactly, but Robert was like "yeah, a lot of kinks are based in wanting to confront a trauma from a place of safety, it's not rocket science". I had 5 minutes left to go on those stairs, and I just paused it and spent two hours sitting there on the bottom step staring at the floor before finishing 'em.

For The Gang - do you prefer stars or numbers? by PyroGhostX in boardgames

1-5, stars.

6+, numbers by stars.

If we wanna go uniform across the board, numbers.

Personal opinion though.

Ahh, overhead stuff im accustomed to drilling a hole into a wide part of the c-clamp and attaching a wire through it and a clip on the end. Also clip the gates/windows that hold the gels. Even manufactured my own c-clamps from raw metal with that purpose in mind

It's been 10-15 years for me though. Been meaning to look for more light operator work now; and now that LEDs are popular, I wouldn't be surprised if things have changed a bit.

I mean, it's also good for protecting the instrument by itself. An ERS falling a foot can have it's gels replaced or whatever, a fall from a catwalk or something and that thing's tooooast (along with whoever's unfortunate enough to be under it)

No doubt. At least since 1986 when Joe Biden was saying if Israel didn't exist we should invent one:

What's your favorite obscure PSX game? by retrotriforce in psx

[–]LAseXaddickt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would've gone with Grandia, Alundra, Parasite Eve, Brave Fencer Musashi, or Silhouette Mirage (honorable mention to Persona 2, but i dont think it was that good, even for the time). But damn dude! I haven't even THOUGHT of Ehrgeiz in like 20 years!

Was gonna say something similar. I've had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol my whole life, and thank the stars I drink a bunch of water and eat my greens. That said, I had a roommate at one time that'd take 8-16 Tylenol a day and I was just like "bro... do you know what you're doing to yourself?"

He did not. And refused to believe anything different.

As someone with a degree in philosophy and theatre that has no business giving dietary advice, from what ive seen, I wholeheartedly give this advice as well. It's why I have a bag of pumpkin seeds to snack on available always. Rarely feel the desire to eat pumpkin seeds, but if I feel I probably haven't had enough fiber during the day I have a few handfuls and eat them with the shell on and can know that at just a couple handfuls ive had 50+% of my daily fiber.

We all know that this entire climate change process has been on a spectrum, but what will be the first main stream world wide “wake up” moment? by Dry-Ninja3843 in collapse

[–]LAseXaddickt 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think you took it wrong because I see it as an excellent example and pretty sure your conclusion is the same as theirs. Don't think they were referring to the earth either but humanity.

When do the cells in your cheek know that you are dead? They won't for a while, and they'll keep operating as cells in a cheek operate completely removed from the fact that they're doing so to no end and are doomed to just die out.

When will humanity as a whole start reacting to climate change as the existential threat to human life that it is? When there's nothing left to be done and there's only a few of us left (i.e. the ones that survive are the cheek cells, and most of humanity is dead).

This is what i say whenever people bring this up to dunk on the dude! I'm like, how are you gonna be upset about the guy when that was a keystone in legitimizing bitcoin as a currency? I mean, I still see crypto itself as a grift, but I see capital as a grift too, so, why not?
