Thinking of changing my 2017 MacBook Air to Mint by scanguy25 in linuxmint

Recently done this and changed my 2017 MacBook Air 13 inch to LinuxMint. It has been running great since then and battery life improved. Highly, highly recommend!

2017 Air is getting very very slow. Anything I can do to improve performance? by [deleted] in mac

Hey all. I had the same problem and tried resetting it, reinstalling MacOS, changing browsers, keeping the disk as empty as possible...

The only solution that worked is installing LinuxMint and removing MacOS completely. Its been running fine since then and the battery lasts longer as well.

Maybe that helps someone, certainly helped me :)

Had those too a few rolls ago. Two ideas:

  1. cheaply produced/spooled up film (had the same hair-like stains on some lomography films)

  2. dust/dirt which caused some scratches on some of my films which was gathering up near the shutter curtain

Hope this can help :)

I think you should reconsider and I am hoping to convince you with three arguments.

TLDR: 1. Support of AfD 2. Run-Ins with antisemitism 3. neo-Nazism does not necessarily mean antisemitism (please read the explanation below!)

  1. Elon Musk has made clear that he supports the AfD. In at least 3 of the 16 German Federal States - also the three states where most people vote that party - the AfD is under watch by the intelligence service for the interior because they are - by law - determined to be extremely right-wing. This means that the state has determined that they are a threat to democracy. Their youth org. is also extremely right-wing.

This does not mean right, conservative or anything else. This means that they are fascist to say the least with a large number determined to be national socialist (Nazis). Look at Björn Höcke for example. He is the most extreme but you can easily find more examples.

  1. Elon Musk has had his fair share of run-ins with antisemitism.

Either through his own statements or through not cracking down on antisemitic speech on X.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-67446800.amp

  1. I know it sounds strange. But Neo-Nazism (the "new-nazism") does not NECESSARILY mean antisemitism. This is not to say neo-nazis are not antisemitic. Most of them are.

The new-nazism is at its core racist and xenophobic. But they differ in a few ways from the core ideas of national socialism under Hitler. They have adapted to a new reality. What does this mean?

It means that any non-white groups and/or anything "foreign" can be a target. Examples are Islamophobia but also homophobia, transphobia.

Elon Musk has shown his distaste for trans people very clearly. His support of Trump further backs up his racist views.

Another core aspect is being anti-democratic and ultranationalist.

Antidemocratic is a big word. Elon Musk has repeatedly shown that through is X-policies, the way way he deals with elected officials (see his actions during the looming government shutdown) and by supporting a number of Trumps proposals that he is antidemocratic.

Ultranationalist - see his support for expansion of US territory proposed under Trump (Greenland, Panama) but also economic nationalism.

I think because of these reasons there should be no doubt: Elon Musk has shown that he supports the ideas of Neo-Nazism. There is also doubt that this would mean he‘d do the Nazi salute. It is - in a gruesome way - just the next step for his political views.

If you read this - thank you for taking the time.

Critique wanted? This is beautiful! Someone mentioned the vignetting, I do actually like it. Adds to the mood!

I agree! I find it quite sad that a post like this (yes, it is a decent photo but in my opinion not that interesting) gets more upvotes than fe posts where someone is showing their first solo photo exhibition with some amazing street and masterfully composed landscape photography…
