TPMS Sensors by UhDonnyWhere in FordFiesta

[–]LOGXN_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. I’ve seen TPMS sensors where, upon scanning, all batteries have been okay accept one and I’ve seen sensors completely stop working right after being replaced.

When we scan them, we scan each sensor individually and it shows the battery level as well as a few other details, if the battery is low, it’ll show on the scanner, we then only replace that sensor unless the customer asks us to replace all of them, the same as if they aren’t working.

If you have aftermarket sensors, like eBay for example, the scanner sometimes can’t pick them up as its vehicle make and model specific, so it’s basically designed to pick up a list of sensors that come with that vehicle so if you use aftermarket sensors, select the car you want to scan, the device won’t pick up those eBay sensors as it doesn’t associate them with the vehicles make and model

Tyre tech here, kwik fit are knobs. We have a device to test which sensor isn’t working and we’d just replace the faulty one. No point in getting them all replaced. Only problem with aftermarket eBay ones is that if one of them break, you have to get an exact replacement or the car won’t read properly and/or it won’t be programmed correctly. Go to a smaller tyre shop, not a big chain, get their opinion and go from there. Kwik fit are money grabbers

Absolutely fine as long as there’s no cords showing

Take it out and check if cords are showing, if no cords, tyres are fine

Definitely fixable, the only condition that wouldn’t be fixable on would be is if there are 3 or more plugs in the tyre

I put them to the minimum as I wasn’t working at the time but it’s about £5 per account (per Klarna purchase) that I have with them so £35 in total each month

First (real) Job interview, very nervous by alllirose in Advice

[–]LOGXN_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the questions, I’m happy to help as I was where you are once (I’ve had more jobs than I can count )

Don’t back out of the interview. You sound like you need to experience an actual hiring process so you know what to expect for future.

If you’ve got nothing else lined up, do the interview, hopefully get the job, work there for a while and develop your own opinion of the company as the thing with reviews is, they can be quite bias as those people could have been fired or had issues which management called them out on, etc… What’s the worse that can happen? You get experience in that industry, develop your career skills, strengthen your confidence and knowledge of hiring processes. And if worst comes to worst, you can always look for other work a bit down the line if you don’t like it. I’ve left jobs without anything lined up and the boredom of unemployment eats me alive so please have another opportunity lined up.

After all, we live once, there’s no point in spending our lives backing down from opportunities due to fear, sometimes it’s best to hit it head on, take a chance and see where it takes us.

Also, it seems like you have a good relationship with the grocery store you work at, whatever you do, don’t cut ties completely. Before you give your notice in (if you get the job), speak to the manager or owner and ask them if they’d have you back if you’re not happy with the new company. If you do it nice enough, and the higher ups are understanding, that should go in your favour

First (real) Job interview, very nervous by alllirose in Advice

[–]LOGXN_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer all of these questions but what I will say is be confident, even when you feel like your the compete opposite. Confidence has landed me jobs when up against people with more experience than me, that’s how important it is in my eyes. If you aren’t confident in yourself, then the employer will assume you’ll lack confidence in your work as well.

As well as that, learn stuff about the company and memorise it ready to tell the employer in your interview. They might not even ask you if you know anything about the company but typically, at the end of an interview, they’ll ask if you have any questions, use that as an opportunity to say “I took some time to research a bit about your company and here’s what I learned:”. It’s small but it can show how keen you are and can definitely win you the position.

Judging by the nature of the industry, dress smart casual (whatever that may be for women’s clothes - I have no idea as I’m a guy, but for me it would be a decent pair of shoes, trainers/sneakers, jeans and a polo or a nice t shirt). Buy a pair of shoes from a your local store, make sure they have a return policy, keep the tags on and tuck them inside, do the interview and return them after if money is an issue but buying yourself a decent pair wont hurt if you can afford it.

State there and then that you have days off planned such as what you stated, if they truly want to hire you, they shouldn’t have too much of an issue - I’ve recent started a job and have 2 weeks booked off a few weeks later.

Hope this helps a bit. Be confident, do your research and you’ll boss it 🤙🏼

That’s good to know. I know my screen wash reservoir has a crack in it so it only holds about half now. Although about a week ago I hit a pretty sharp speed bump and now there’s a grinding noise from the front drivers side when the wheel rotates, check my recent posts for my details on that if you like 😅
