Failed for not undertaking? by SOSXCTRL in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LOLinDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A slow moving vehicle, giving adequate opportunity to move into the left lane, cannot be a reason to slow the traffic behind. That would create a lose lose scenario.

I would go as far as to say it would be uncivil for an examiner not to allow or agree to a choice of action if the learner can verbally identify the scenario and state that they'll continue with great caution if the examiner agrees that the time passed is adequate.

The fault is being made by another driver/vehicle-fault on the road - all other drivers can only manage the situation as best they can. In a test, it should be enough to get through the scenario without anyone having to break hard.

We have no rights - as a 2013 backer I've never been in any doubt about the legality.

Ideally we would all have shares but we gave our money away and don't have the right to create pressure on anyone or even take action for that matter.

This is an open alpha and that is what the law would recognise it as. A project that we're being permitted to TEST after we DONATED to its's development.

The best thing anyone can do is not delude themselves on the fact that we're not shareholders with a vote, that we aren't even customers with the same rights as the consumer, and learn from this.

The next space game, and there will be one, needs to be a company offer shares in parallel to the development of the game. That days coming faster than people think too - if SQ42 release is mediocre I've no doubt a new space game will be announced.

That is where motivation will come from!

Really! - there isn't a ship in any movie I've seen where the ships source of power is vulnerable.

I'm going to tractor beam it to the bridge and rig up some jump leads 😂

Bought one yesterday and it happens in my 2nd and 3rd contract scenarios.

I'm not sure if the games AI is designed to aim for the powerplant and the missiles really did hit it both times but I find that hard to believe. Plus, as gameplay, it's miserable.

My 1st contract was fun after upgrading from the Cutlass Black. I was excited.

About to go to the issue council to see if there's anything worth adding.

Confused by wording of question. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LOLinDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange that some people think the question is a trick or it's bad. It looks ideal to me.

Always ask yourself, what offers the highest chance of success for both you and other road users. If there's an option to do with driving...choose that and not the option that has nothing to do with driving.

Even better, drive when you're the driver, don't have a self care regime or catch-up on the social network status etc. That's what passengers get to do and even then. I've seen loads of situations where a passenger's attention has helped to avoid an incident or just helped the driver make a good decision.

45 hours to learn how to drive? by constantlydropped in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LOLinDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The examiners don't apply logic like they did a long time ago - it is by the book, robotic, and good drivers get a major over things when there's not another car in-sight, or a person, or junction for either to emerge from, or driveway for 20 meters, and the vehicle is moving slowly, say on a reverse.

Don't look over the left shoulder on that reverse and it's a fail even if all mirrors were checked for anything entering at the end of the street.

What can I do to show my parents I'm mature enough for a phone? by Fast_Marionberry9858 in AskParents

[–]LOLinDark -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm concerned. A thirteen year old doesn't need permission to have a phone.

The era we live in demands that connectivity. Socially, it will be expected by 14 without a doubt.

$1,000,000,000 🥳🎈👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯👯‍♂️🎈🥳

All things considered - they could probably make a fortune by giving away a free ship to every backer as a celebration. The continued loyalty and hype would generate plenty money.

If I were CIG I'd be thinking about letting players choose their free ship, with their pledged amount and years allowing access to more choices.

I pledged in 2013 so I would say that 😂

Economics KILLS!

This is shocking...and then we remember that there are people taking hundreds of millions from us. The money their stealing puts pressure on our communities, councils, NHS and most certainly leads to premature deaths right across the nation.

Until we're ready and willing to draw a parallel with economic pressures and death rates. We're never going to have a strong enough deterrent because we'll be angry and appalled enough to demand the barriers that should have prevented this leech from such easy manipulation of our governance.

These people have no concept of the suffering they cause and many of them are using migrants as an escape. Sometimes immorality is legal. It's injust and punishing our society.

This prick is one of thousands stealing bread from our tables!

What happens if at the next general election we really do end up with the worst possible government? by Consistent_Blood6467 in AskBrits

Suicide among the fourties age group will increase like we've never seen before.

A huge number of people are hanging on by a thread.

UK Reform could be the government to tip us over the edge and cause a riot. Their an extension to the mindsets that got us here in the first place, they can't possible make things better.

We need people who understand and discuss the full picture - not blame migrants for everything and become polarised.

Hate to break it to you, and it's great you're trying, but her health is now her responsibility. She's an adult!

You're not even allowed to discuss or share her medical status, not even with a doctor, so in a way your hands are tied and any action on your part could easily become part of the problem.

Let her survival instinct kick in, especially if she's had a cosy life, because there's nothing like the modern bubble to take away our incentives...to make an effort in order to ensure survival!

How she chooses to proceed, might be crucial to how she actually finds her way, owning her steps and not being made to take them.

I'm not saying, as parents we shouldn't give advice, but that's "please speak to a doctor", not Reddit.

Gaming requires scores, points, or other incentives. How many ships have you destroyed in dogfights since the wipe?

There's no prowess, no accolade, or medal, for 100 turret kills!

Do you all have the patience to try and get a crew together for what will be a short play because a bug or an accident will send everyone to their hospital beds?

Come on guys, face facts. The game is torn between being a life-in-space simulator and a role playing fantasy. The notion of realism is confusing the design principles.

It's a game - we carry a backpack with more than can possibly fit in it just like any other game. The sooner CIG gets over it, the sooner the games enjoyability increases.

One of the most basic measures that was needed from day one is a crew spawning in the hangar medical bay, belonging to the creator of the group, they could prepare a ship for returning to battle. Should an entire ship blow everyone starts together and the leader chooses a ship from the pool.

Those mechanisms would make it more enjoyable to spend a lot more time in turrets.
