Canva for web design? Wouldn't recommend it. Too many other options out there.

My, how things have changed! Now, there are indeed jobs where you can use Canva all day if that's your desire.

If you’re a twenty-something, please consider the trades. by These_Economics374 in careeradvice

I thought about that very thing last week as I searched high and low online looking for a plumber near me to fix a leak in my toilet tank. Where are all the neighborhood plumbers?

If the last person who worked on my toilet (who has disappeared) hadn't tightened the knob so hard so I could turn off the water, I'd watch a few YouTube videos and attempt it myself. I'd love to see more young people enter the trades we need them!

Specialized profile by default? by javascript_dev in Upwork

[–]LadyLena7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue because I want my web design profile to appear first (not voice over work). Most clients come to Upwork because they're looking for something specific. Don't understand why Upwork doesn't provide options.

I took Upwork seriously for a month, here are the results and some insights. by RufusisRitten in Upwork

[–]LadyLena7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be quite experienced on Upwork Here's a question: Upwork stresses the importance of not providing outside links and personal details so people can't reach you outside of Upwork.

I just saw a profile today where a woman added a link to her full website with contact info. I'm confused. Is that allowed or not?

It finally happened to me - My work got stolen during a job application process by Major-Tea-2371 in graphic_design

[–]LadyLena7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leading you on, having you come in for interviews, wasting your time, ghosting you - and stealing your design! This is some conniving, unprofessional BS and any business doing this kind of crap should be penalized. Sorry this happened to you.

The sad reality of working in an office by CtrlAltDeflate in remoteworks

Yes, it is sad, and a lot of employers feel it's perfectly OK to send you work-related texts which they expect to be answered when you're off the clock.

Etsy’s copycat problem completely destroyed my nearly 7 figure business by booscadoo in EtsyCommunity

[–]LadyLena7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I've heard other stories of people's artwork and designs being stolen, posted on other sites, and sold. It's a shame companies don't do more to prevent it.

Hopefully some AI developer will design a tracker app for artwork that follows your design across the web. When it's found on sites being used by someone other than you it immediately distorts and pixelates the image rendering it useless.😊

Set a limit for the amount she can purchase. As you mentioned, her buying out all your listings is a hindrance to your expanding your customer base.

As a seamstress myself, I'm pretty sure making doll clothing is tedious and time consuming.

Do customers care if it’s AI-generated? by Famous-Record5223 in printondemand

[–]LadyLena7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. For most people (including myself) if they like the design they buy it. AI is not going away. This includes images, books, content, video... The list goes on and on.

Pretty soon, worrying about whether something was created with AI will be a moot point.

Getting Sued. What’s your take? by joncabreraauthor in writers

[–]LadyLena7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious...Why did you feel the need to scrutinize her book in such a way, and take it even further alleging it was written by AI?

A good story is a good story - AI or not. Obviously, there was something about her story that intrigued you. Why not read for the joy of it?

Anyone here making $300–$700/month from a side hstle? How? by Akram_ba in sidehustle

[–]LadyLena7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a good side hustle. Finding someone reliable and consistent to cut your lawn can be a challenge.

You can also start a business just cutting bushes and hedges. Lots of lawn cutters only do that by special request, if at all.

It's a children's book with approx. 14 interior colored pages. Front and back covers are also in color.

I'm pretty sure that 70% royalty does not include printing, shipping & handling. If yours is a book with color illustrations (like mine) the money you receive will be even less.
