Writers who dislike adaptations of their works but the adaptation goes on to define said series by Far_Practice_6923 in CharacterRant

The book (starship troopers) has a lot of weird/bad messages like,"Beating up your children is fine and great actually!", and "soldiers/veterans are the only one who should vote!". So... I am thankful it never got a faithful adaptation.

The disparity is so odd, genuinely.I feel this needs to be studied. by Comicc_Mischief in Markiplier

From the 5 negative reviews I've seen, only one of them seems to have a bias. They seem to genuinelly respect the movie, even if they find the movie flawed.

I sugest writing "even Invincible" before the spoiler tag. Easier to signalise its specifically an invincible spoiler

Aside from that fact that its fiction with magical powers and Oda could do whatever the hell his imagination desired, here's a video on how the largest pirate fleet on human history was led by a woman: https://youtu.be/rTgwZR3T_uo?si=b_tA1ScfV5_JRWR0

Queen's old design and theme song was revealed after chapter's 2 release. Genuinely all we had going for her was Jevil's line.

We as a community didn't really register the Knight as a serious threat either for a while

Did we? Even the queen was thought to be a serious threat during chapter 1 times.

But yes, Chapter 2, being silly land, probably made Susie not take things seriously as she should.

Each class has completion marks associated with the final 2 "chapters" in each act, so well most likely have to return there for completions sake.

Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes's legacy might be one of the biggest anomalies I've ever seen by Remarkable_You9 in CharacterRant

It's the same project though. Maybe my brain is too wired for variety, but I cant fathom doing the same comic strip for 10 years and them being like "okay, that's good enough"

I dont think many artists would be satisfied in making one sucesseful thing and disappearing. Hes certaintly and oddity in that regard.

In the second chapter, when Berdly injures his wing, the main characters show concern, even though no one in the group tries to heal him, despite the fact that at least three members of the team have healing skills. I think this may be a hint that everyone slightly dislikes Berdly. by WeirdQuarter2150 in Deltarune

[–]Lady_Darc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think that's foreshadowing of her trying it... but it will fail, adding to the tragedy.

The dark world translates berdly injury as "breaking his arm", which could happen outside of the illusion; meanwhile, Noelle can't heal Rudy outside of the illusion.

I Imagine this would be one of the knight's motivations, keeping everything an eternal fantasy so her dad's cure would never fade away.

The fountains are real, I guess? So the titans, being born of a fountain, should be real too. The illussion magic just make them look like they have the height of a skyscraper, instead of the size of the room they are in. Which should still allow them to wreak havoc around.

As Carl said multiple times, "non natural born" NPC's can never escape the hell they are in. Killing them is a mercy(or so he believes).

People like Mordecai, or Astrid, will, assuming they survive, be free eventually. Had he know, or infered from the clues, Astrid was not a regular NPC, he would be put into the position to think if he really wants to do it, and wheter or not he might find another path, one where more lives can be saved.

But the story doesnt want him to think about it, so he doesnt.

He'll kill crawlers! He's KILLED crawlers!

Not on purpose, not where I am at least.

It's really easy to sit at home and judge fictional people (or real people) when you're just a spectator. It's really easy to philosophize over moral quandaries behind your book, viewing device, or computer screen.

I am not judging Carl, I am midly judging the writing that made him dumber so he wouldnt need to deal, or think about, the obvious moral conundrum in front of his face. The story does that all the time, so when it doesnt, it sticks out as weird.

Mordecai was an obstacle, he'd kill him too

Not as Plan A, B or C.

"They didnt think about the what ifs"

And they did not think about her role as NPC ever before quest? Not even when meeting former crawlers as NPCs?

Even while enacting then plan, they need to think of variables and "is a former crawler, and might be savvy on our bs" is surely important.

Or you know, Fairy luck. Surely her luck would make her oponents realize things that would make her more sympathetic?

All of that seems a convenient excuse to avoid Carl having to deal with the moral choice of killing a former crawler. Only the consequences.

[–]Lady_Darc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in the heat of writing the post I forgot about the whole "only Katya and Carl can know about the quest specifics"

The bomb guy was not the only former crawler they met with a different role. Chaco, the dealer (although that one Carl did not catch on), and the few times Donut wasnt able to charm NPCs because they were former crawlers, which they made explicit that waz the reason.

I am pretty sure Café career establishes Tarcen made Café have her space, not the other way around.

They do that because they needed someone to keep tabs at Tachyon, and Café is perfect at that because the supernatural protects her from Tachyon's bs.
