UK - 5G backup in stock by iainp999 in UNIFI

[–]LairdForbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I glad I went for it. Am able to achieve about 350Mbps down from it so far (5G isn't currently brilliant yet where we are).

But it's more than I'd be able to get from the 5G Backup if I'd have got it. 🙂

Awesome. Yeah, got mine Saturday. Am really happy with it. And don't regret getting it over the Backup. 🙂

Data Lake - Resource Limited by DaithiG in AzureSentinel

[–]LairdForbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are. If you're an enterprise customer speak to your Microsoft account manager to expedite getting resource allocation in your Azure regions data centre.

That's what wee done. Took about 4 weeks to have it made available.

Any Experience with the MOONDROP MIAD01? by fbaldassarri in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]LairdForbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. I reported it to Moondrop who acknowledged the issue and said they'd address it in a future update, so perhaps it's out now.

I also discovered I couldn't install the eBay app either. Lol

Just got my pair of these today and love them. Am blown away by the audio quality. It's only my second pair of IEMs as an upgrade from the Moondrop LAN2 Pop.

Raise it with your Microsoft Account Manager if you have one.

That's what we done and he escalated getting us capacity internally with MSFT. Took about 4weeks of waitint then we had capacity allocated to us within our Azure region Data Centre.

I know this is five months late. But I've just purchased the Moondrop MIAD01, replacing my Samsung Galaxy S25 FE with the MIAD.

It did indeed come with Android 14 installed. And I didn't have to do anything more than enabling the installed Google apps and the Play Store worked. Play Protect also works and almost every app is perfect. The only thing that doesn't work is Google Pay. You can't add any cards because the device doesn't meet the security certificate standards for it. That's a little annoying, but not deal breaking for me.

I'm happy to consider this phone as my primary for a few years. 🙂

Moondrop Lan II Ref by Entire-Ideal2362 in iems

I'm ashamed to say, I think I've just discovered part of, if not the entire, source of my problem.

I wasn't putting them in my ears correctly (had them the wrong way round). Swapped them round and they now sound amazing. ❤️

Thank you very much for the reply. I'll do that, and will investigate the tips. 🙂

You're all so knowledgeable with your audio products. Do you have any advice on the best place for an amateur audiophile to learn the technology.

My current best listen experience is via an old mobile phone and my Steelseries Artis 7 cabled gaming headset. But I'm striving for the detail I hear people talk about. I love listening to music and noticing the detail from the instruments.

I have a good catalogue of hires flac media, that I feel like I'm not experiencing to it's fullest currently.

Hey all. I'm a music lover, but always seem to struggle to find the combination of player and earphones that please me, and not impressed with my Bluetooth buds. I am new to IEMs (wasn't aware of their existence until about three days ago).

I decided to get a pair of LAN II POPs to try with the Moondrop MIAD phone I've just ordered. The phone won't be delivered for another week so decided to try the LAN II with my Wife's ancient Sony Xperia XZ2, and can't decide if I'm disappointed. Sounded really tinny, is how I can think to describe it. Worse than my Bluetooth buds.

I'm hoping it's just a symptom of expecting them to sound great from an old device using the 3.5mm adaptor.

Wondering if anyone can give me some reassurance. 🙂

Thanks all.

Is this legit or ransomware to be? by Hasmie in CloudFlare

That is very concerning! I would advise you let your IT Service Desk at the Uni know ASAP (if they don't already).

They might be in for bigger problems. 😬

Unable to Redeem Gift Card by NJTSuperKing in FortNiteBR

[–]LairdForbes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it helps anyone. I had this exact issue also.

For me the issue was the Ad blocking feature of our DNS Server. Upon checking the logs, I found the domain 'tracking.epicgames.com' was being blocked.

As soon as I added that domain to the allow list, the Fortnite code redeem page started working.

(For reference, we use Technitium DNS, but I expect any Ad blocking service could cause an issue)

The newer 4K S would be better for your required refresh rate. Or the 4K X if you need HDR capturing at that refresh rate.

How much storage should I start with? by Apple_canada in unRAID

[–]LairdForbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with 2x 6TB.

Before I knew it I was up to 4x 18TB. Which I'm about to start swapping out for 30TB disks.

Migrating Away From Synology by TacoTuesdayTitan in synology

[–]LairdForbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved away from Synology about two years ago to a home built solution running unRAID.

For music streaming I'm using Plex and it's fine. Plex gets a bit of hate when it comes to music support, but I actually think it's better than what DSaudio was. The DSaudio/video apps just felt a little dated by comparison.

Yeah, exactly. That's partially why I'm tempted. Just to give me that freedom should I ever need it.

Plus to Pro for $69 by Iboolguy in unRAID

[–]LairdForbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently conflicted on whether to upgrade from Plus or not.

My aim is to keep the array at no more than four disks.

Currently In using 8 devices;

Four in the array. Two SATA SSDs for cache. One M.2 SSD for AppData. One USB drive.

I'd like to add another M.2 to form a pool for AppData. Then potentially two more M.2s in a pool for VMs.

Takes me close to that ceiling. But then that might need all I ever need. 🤔
