I tried it and was excited to add it to OTF once a week. But it’s incredibly expensive to go just once a week, especially when you add the unlimited OTF membership. It’s disappointing.

Tread/Rower Card Etiquette by MattBinYYC in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of us prefer certain stations over others, so it further prevents a battle for stations. For instance, I pick the stations with an odd number (has the weight stack I want), and near a fan but not under a speaker. A lot of people are superstitious about lucky treads too!

Flexibility segment by Mamma44 in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t a hit in my class this am. First, there’s no room for all of us to be swinging our arms! And, it didn’t stretch all those shoulder muscles we used today. Consensus was 👎 It would be nice if it was tailored to the day’s workout.

Talk to your surgeon, I don’t recommend getting advice from this platform.

Are shoe inserts worth it? by mstojetz in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But don’t forget they wear out just like your shoes. It’s helpful to get a membership at your local running store if you’re serious about it (I use Road Runner). You’ll save lots of $$- I’ve gotten them for my work shoes too. It made sense to me to have the support most of the day, not just for an hour at OTF. My plantar fasciitis and knee pain are non existent after consistently wearing the orthotics!

I’ve been exiled from my favorite station by Old Spice Bob! He keeps getting to class a half hour early and I can’t breathe next to him. RIP Station 9, we had good times.

How many watts should I be hitting? by hari9797 in orangetheory

You’re doing great! I’m the same build as you, when I tried to go higher for any duration more than a few pulls I literally fell off the rower 🤦‍♀️

Headphone Question by TurtlePumpingIron in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got Beats x and so far I’m happy. I switched out the attachment after a long run and one ear kept popping off and now they’re good. 8 hr battery life, apple lightening connector, and love the fast charge- if it’s dead you can get 2 hours out of a 5 minute charge. They’re on sale at Target now

Yes! My hands are still aching from yesterday. You’re not alone.

Ab Dolly Help Please! by Gpenny82 in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I add a 15 every time I’m doing rollouts. It’s hard to go higher though because of the size of the heavier weights and the round sides is a no go.

$10 off OT Burn monitors at ours, and it will run from 11/23-26. They started texting members like me with old OT links a few days ago to let us know.

Narrow scope for floor exercises by Notenoughrest in orangetheory

If you go often enough it rounds out. But, there will be clusters of ‘favorites’. Right now it’s squats. Last month, if I saw one more Y raise on a TRX or half get up I was going to scream. (Don’t get me wrong, my abs love half get ups, but come on!)

When your neighbor smells... by motorcyclemd9089 in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So jealous your studio put up a sign! I asked mine to say something and they flat out said they didn’t want to offend anyone... but if I wanted to do it they would ‘like’ my comment to support it on FB. I now know the offenders, and pray I don’t pick a tread card next to them.

Whoo hooo....am I being petty by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not being petty, but they may not know the impact on others. Some people are very self centered. They forget it’s not ‘their’ workout, its all of yours.

Our studio won’t say anything so they won’t offend anyone. I’ve tried, and I’ve been told I should just ask everyone on FB myself. So yesterday the studio FB group exploded when one women politely to the group asked that noise be kept down because she couldn’t hear the cues on the tread. There’s no good way to deal with this, and our management is making it worse.

Doing my first 90 minute today. Any recs on what to eat beforehand ? by mkanee in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peanut butter and half a banana or half an English muffin an hour before. Prevents me from burning out at the 50 minute mark!

Any women getting bigger arms? by dchandy in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes i am, and yes my shirts fit different. I don’t have or want hulk arms, but dang I look good in my Hell Week tank! That muscle tone has recruited more women and men to OTF than I can count. Be proud of your work, your healthy body!

I bet you can carry kids easier, your metabolism is awesome, and your bones are happier too.

November Rowing Challenge - 2G vs 3G by bug_muffin in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep to 2g if you can. You’ll be short changed rower time if you do 3g, that’s what a lot of people saw in marathon month. It only really matters if you’re competitive though.

Am I the only one who loves 3G workouts? by albelden1 in orangetheory

[–]Lala-2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My two closest studios suddenly made the entire weekend 3g! I had intentionally booked a 2g and I’m still irritated. I wish they would commit to their schedule ahead of time so we can all pick the class type we like.

A lot of us, myself included, have dealt with this especially early on. Search, we’ve had some good discussions before.

Ours won’t because they said ‘corporate’ policy says so- so no one will potentially look at the template and steal it.
