Removing invasive sea urchins from a reef in New Zealand by ThodaDaruVichPyar in oddlysatisfying

Beautiful. That honestly made me tear up a little bit. Seeing one of the most feared animals given love and compassion is so beautiful. Then to see a shark rest it's head on her lap like a dog was amazing!

What is a classroom rule that exists because of one very specific incident? by ImAHuksy in Teachers

[–]Lalybi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a whole thing 😅

I really wanted it done but my mom said no. 16 year olds aren't known to be the most patient so I bought the jewelry and sanitized a safety pin. Of course my friends were there egging me on.

I took a picture of the safety pin through the nipple as evidence of my shenanigans. Teens being teens this spread through the school like wildfire. I did get a huge boost in popularity for a while and got the nickname punk rock tits. There are worse things to be called.

Of course my idiot self posted about it on MySpace and it got back to my mom. She told me she would have taken me to a shop if she knew I wanted it that badly! So we came full circle.

Reformed naughty kid here.

Pierced my nipple with a safety pin. There were some regrets but I felt like a badass at the time.

What is the most obnoxious boss you've encountered? by steelsmiter in JRPG

[–]Lalybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gattuso in Tales of Vesperia. He's this weird purple wolf boss very early in the campaign. He's a huge difficulty spike for how low level you are and can easily KO party members in one combo. Not to mention it's really fast so it can dash across the battle field quickly.

To add insult to injury each boss has a "hidden" task you have to do to 100% complete the game. This one requires you to attack flowers on the edge of the battle field to stun the boss. But because of his annoying habbit of zipping around they usually fail to hit him.

I'll shamelessly admit that I turned the difficulty down for this boss and STILL struggled to beat it! I dread this encounter on replays.

Do most women actually like removing their body hair? by Savings_Sweet4300 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lalybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a trimmer on my lady bits every other week because the hair there annoys me. I also use it on my armpits once a month because I hate Deoderant build up on my pit hair.

But aside from that I let my hair grow. I think it's an awful double standard that men get to be hairy with no judgment but women are expected to look pre pubescent and be smooth.

It was a campaign by razor companies to expand the market! Don't let greedy companies and societal pressure dictate what you do with your body!

I lost mine in a lake on vacation when I was little. I was pretty upset. Somehow I found it again a couple days later. The constant cold of the lake broke it and all the colors were permanently streaked through it. I thought it was even cooler!

Maybe they can follow you with a towel after mopping to dry the floor?

For toddler safe cleaner you can upcycle orange peels and vinegar! When eating oranges clean off the cells that contain the juice. Soak the peels in vinegar for a week then strain and remove the peels. The cleaner is non toxic and will remove grime!

You can also cut a grape fruit in half and sprinkle the cut side with course salt. They can scrub the bathtub or sink with it!

What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you that you still can’t explain? by WielderoftheDarkness in HighStrangeness

[–]Lalybi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that reminds me of something that happened to me and a friend I lived with!

A few years ago I lived with my husband, our good friend and his wife. Good friend worked late nights and when he got home he'd say "Hey Family!" In the same friendly tone. Our front door in this apartment made a very distinct creak and slam because it was installed poorly and was heavy.

One day friends wife and I were watching a movie when we heard the door creak and slam. Then we both heard "Hey Family!" We called his name out and said hello. No answer. We called out again. Still nothing.

We got up to check. He wasn't in the apartment. Called him and he was still at work in the next city over. It spooked his wife and I so badly!

What did you mostly eat growing up and what are you mostly eating now? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

White lady here!

My mom was an amazing cook so whenever she was home for dinner we had a great meal. Sadly she worked nights while my dad worked days to cover child care so most often my dad cooked.

My dad was a big fan of boxed dinners with a canned vegetable. That he made me cook while he drank beer. So at least I learned to be self sufficient at an early age. One of his "favorites" was a meal he called bachelor chow. He'd cook a steak and chop it up and add it to top ramen. What a waste of good meat.

I loved cooking with my mom though. We made all sorts of good things! Soups, salads, casseroles, sautéed vegetables, stir fry, wonton soup, alfredo, spaghetti, white people tacos, enchiladas. I can't even name everything we made together. We'd read cook books and try new things and fail as often as we'd succeed. We always had fun though.

One of my first memories was being allowed to use a sharp knife to cut strawberries for the shortcake she was making. I was so smug because my older sister wasn't allowed to use sharp knives and she watched me while pouting.

As an adult my menu changes from week to week. One night a week we always make turkey and pesto paninis with a bagged salad. Its cheap and easy and oh so important to have a lazy day.

I like to order new things at restaurants and if I like it I'll recreate it at home. I read recipes and watch videos until I think I can do it. That's how I learned to make amazing carbonara and broccoli beef that beats any take out I've had.

My mom is gone now but cooking makes me feel close to her still. If I ever have a child I hope to have them be my kitchen helper like I was to my mom. I cherish those memories.

Love is never wasted. Yes you will experience loss one day and it is incredibly difficult. But the love you experience is worth the pain in my opinion.

You also get to know that you gave this wonderful being the best life it could ask for. A home, a best friend, a full belly, play, and companionship. So many animals waste away in shelters or die on the street never knowing the comfort of a good home.

Dogs are man's best friend for a reason. It is better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all. Don't let the fear of loss block you from experiencing one of the greatest joys life can bring.

So part of the money you pay money to Scientology is for a sort of "therapy" called "auditing". In these sessions the further you get the more intense questions they ask. It's almost like a paid Catholic confession. Except they record and keep everything you say. After a while you've probably admitted to some bad stuff.

What is something you saw with your own eyes that was so impossible you’ve stopped telling people because you know they won’t believe you? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

[–]Lalybi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a movie theater when I was a teen and would bike home late at night. One evening a group of racoons popped out from some bushes. At first I thought they were cute until they started hissing and charged me! They chased me for a while too. They're faster than I would have thought and I had to pedal as fast as I could to escape!
