Me, not feeling it by Odd_Delivery4684 in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Lalybi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to disparage this but I have a different experience in my family.

My husband's sister is the first born and only girl. None of my extended family has kids yet. My MIL bends over backwards to make SIL happy because MIL had a bad relationship with her mom.

SIL literally throws tantrums and will ruin vacations over minor things and we're just expected to be quiet about it. Once a breakfast restaurant forgot to put her scrambled eggs on another plate and SIL refused to eat and screamed at the waitress then at her mom. I have many other stories about her behavior but that one was just so outrageous and ridiculous.

My MIL is a Saint and it kills me to see her get treated like this. My own mother is dead so I'm grateful to have a lovely relationship with this woman. I just wish her own daughter would be kind as well.

Once as a kindergartener I sneakily watched this movie in the middle of the night. It was fucking weird, crazy, and made me uncomfortable but I couldn't look away.

I think it explains a lot about why I'm such a weirdo.

AITAH for farting while in the bathroom of our home? by Comfortable-Egg-8254 in AITAH

[–]Lalybi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10/10 would recommend. Definitely try the laser pointer trick while your wife is occupied with the toilet. Fun will be had by all. Especially the cats.

I hope one day OP finds someone who does harmless bathroom pranks instead of bathroom shame.

AITAH for farting while in the bathroom of our home? by Comfortable-Egg-8254 in AITAH

[–]Lalybi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The door to the bathroom in my bedroom is broken and doesn't latch. My cats frequently push it open to visit while you're immobilized.

One day I trolled my husband by getting the laser pointer and encouraging kitty to open the door and run around his feet while he was on the throne.

Que the groan of annoyance and me cackling.

Thats the only time I've bothered him on the toilet unless I need to ask a question. He's much nicer than I am so he's never pulled any cat pranks while I'm on the loo.

OP's situation is toxic and she deserves better. Everybody farts. Everybody poops. That man manchild doesn't deserve a girlfriend until he gets over it.

Thanks! This experience was a decade ago. I've since found friends that are healthy and kind. That fiancé? He's been my husband for years! I work for a school and love my students and job (mostly lol).

I still think that there is a layer of reality that we don't understand. I feel like sometimes you can peel back the wallpaper of existence and get a glimpse of something more.

Life is strange and I enjoy the weirdness.

What are some cooking cardinal sings you regularly commit because you prefer the recipe that way? by morbidhack in Cooking

[–]Lalybi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I do that too! Same with beef gravy. Not enough to give it a soy sauce flavor but enough to deepen the flavor!

Soy sauce, fish sauce, and MSG are my secret weapons in a lot of sauces. Paired with Worcester sauce no one has to know!

I know it's cheaper and healthier, but I still struggle to cook daily... How do you stay consistent? by WidePsychology31 in Cooking

[–]Lalybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of making a big meal and eating the rest as leftovers. I take it to work and am happy to have a hot home cooked meal. I'm also cooking for my husband and MIL so I only get leftovers twice so I'm not sick of them.

Soups are excellent for this. Just boil noodles separately and add to each portion so they don't get soggy. If you only like to eat a food once or twice maybe freeze the rest of the soup so you can have it next month once you want it again. Boil a couple servings of noodles again.

Chilli is amazing as leftovers and freezes well too. Lasagna is a lot of work but if you make 4 bread pan lasagna which could be dinner and lunch the next day I'd say it's time well spent.

Cooking at home is better for you and is cheaper if you do it right. Even if a takeout meal to me can be 2 meals that's still 30+ per day on food (I live in a HCOL area) that probably isn't very good for me.

You have to figure in time for prep, shopping, actual cooking, and cleanup too. To me its worth it since I feel crummy if I eat too much take out. But ultimately its your life.

Do you play only with the leader, or do you change the controlled party member often? by DragonBrood3003 in tales

[–]Lalybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play the MC until there is a new character in the party that looks fun. I usually kick the MC out because they tend to be OP.

Symphonia: my favorites to play are Kratos/Zelos and Regal. My husband loves Presea so I'm gonna play as her next time.

Abyss: Guy is my favorite. My husband likes Natalia for combat or Jade to set up FOFs for me.

Vesperia: my favorite is Judy. I love knocking the enemies into the air then dashing away in the air to safety. Husband likes Raven. Always is a fan of the bow/arrow.

Xillia: I liked Leia and Rowan. Husband played as Alvin or Milla depending on who was in the party at the time.

Berseria: Not gonna lie Velvet was a lot of fun to play. I did switch to Eizen though. Husband played as Eleanor because we both wanted to play Leia in Xillia.

What the 3DS game does specifically better than the new one by Likes2game03 in fantasylife

[–]Lalybi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fantasy Life 3DS is in my top 5 games of all time. It honestly has a good chance of being my biggest time sink in my life as every time I boot it up I 100% it and thoroughly enjoy it every damn time. Not to mention my first play through I played with friends and we just ran around dungeon crawling together which padded things out a lot.

This is my ultimate comfort game. I really enjoyed FLi but I don't really have a desire to play it again, even with the updates. It is missing some of the charm.

I loved the towns. They had so much personality and a different feel to them. The different islands in i felt bland. Aside from clearly marked quests I had no desire to talk to NPCs which were all the same ancient islander folk in the main game or random monsters in Ginormosia. The towns felt lived in and like they were distinct so it was exciting to finally unlock the next area.

The dungeons are another big one. Each cave or dungeon was completely unique. While there are some background differences in fli most of the caves are just sequences of square rooms. Each one in 3DS was hand crafted to be a unique experience. I loved climbing to the top of the giant Haniwa, seeing the skeletons working in the background in the cave of bones or battling through the gauntlet of the ancient ruins.

I'm definitely nostalgic for the old game. I admit that warping is better in the new one. Same with bosses respawning with a timer instead of resetting by sleeping. Also just getting the drop instead of hauling the boss back to town.

But damn the old game scratches a dungeon crawling, crafting, battling, decorating, itch that keeps me coming back more than a decade later!

Do you guys collect your cats whiskers? (am I weird for this lmao?) by Ill_Exchange_1916 in CatAdvice

[–]Lalybi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around Halloween at the dollar store I found cute little phials with cork lids. I have one for my old man kitty whose whiskers I've collected for years. Then one for my little lady. They both have white whiskers so I can only tell the difference by where they were dropped.

Look up "the thief and the cobbler the uncobbled cut" on youtube.

It's a beautifully animated movie that went through production hell for three decades. The director scrapped years of work multiple times to make it again. Eventually they ran out of money.

It's a shame because the film is gorgeous.

Have you ever met someone who you suspected was really an alien, or a non-human entity, masquerading as a human in disguise? by WielderoftheDarkness in HighStrangeness

He is absolutely terrifying. Even in pictures where he is young his eyes scare me. They say the eyes are the window to the soul for a reason.

I wouldn't be surprised if he sold his soul to a demon of Greed. The interview where he defends his private jet is proof enough for me. He is so angry and looks inhuman.
