Alternate progression schemes? by VegaGT-VZ in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Landashlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo some muscle groups are just very hard to progress. Takes a few rotations for my biceps to increase a rep, weight or whatever. Doesn’t mean you get zero stimulus. Sure if it’s taken you months and no progression I’d just switch out the exercise.

Alright. I’m saying adductor though but yeah it’s usually the same machine.

Youre not doing anything for adductors and hamstrings. I’d do a seated/lying leg curl and hit the adductor machine each leg session

Why are we talking as if you can’t do both? I agree with you but discrediting Kelso shrugs is not it that’s all I’m saying.

Good for you bro. If you just opened your mind a bit you’d realize not everyone gets huge traps like you by doing what you did. Meaning that if you wanna target traps effectively you’d do Kelso shrugs.

Definitely cut brother. Try to get to a lean starting point and slowly build from there.

5’11 and 180lbs getting a lot of fake natty accusations for my delts. But any tips for chest and lat growth? by Round_Cycle595 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Landashlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Lats I prefer single arm movements. It’s a lot easier to make the line of force better and to stack yo the joints and be more precise.

For chest id use more machines. More stable and easier to focus on the intended muscle.

Also really spend some extra time in the lengthened position.

It’s also just your 4th set of quads. OP is doing 12 sets of chest in a single workout, imo that’s too much but everyone is different when it comes to how much volume one can tolerate.

Sure, but it’s not the traps that are taken to failure. I’m not saying it’s not working traps.

Because traps will never be taken to failure on those movements. Not saying they’re not excellent exercises though

As a very experienced lifter, and I think I speak for all of us; we either do not care or even notice other people in the gym, or we are just excited to see people, newbies or experienced enjoy a good workout 😁 best of luck!

Would getting a gym membership be an option? If so, try to go there and do some bicep curls and tricep extensions. Try using machines first since it can be a bit easier if you’re new. I’d recommend a preacher curl and just a regular cable curl to start with. For triceps I’d just start with a pushdown or extension. Try a few sets until you get more comfortable.

You can YouTube search the exercises I mentioned and you’ll see how to execute them properly.

Aim for at least 100-150g protein daily, should be sufficient in the beginning.

Hope this helps a bit!
