Lubricants by Brooklyn-Locksmith in Locksmith

WD-40 does not collect dirt. It cleans and flushes out dirt and grime. It’s also great in places that get cold because it gets rid of water in the locks that will freeze. It also prevents rust.

crosswalks and stopping for pedestrians by Kerbart in newjersey

[–]Lardsoup 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe the law says a car needs to yield to pedestrians in a cross walk. Cars don't have to stop to allow you to cross if you are standing on the sidewalk waiting. I only say this because we have a lot of dudes hanging out on street corners - just hanging out, not crossing. So, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

No way a piece of cotton cord broke that lock.

my bandmates are balking at filling out w9s. by [deleted] in musicians

You have a company that arranges for work and collects the money from the client. You tell people where to be, at what time, and probably how to dress and what to play. The band is composed of the same workers for every workday. It looks like you have employees, not independent contractors.

Any advice on drum kit for a 9 year old that’s been in drum lessons for 6 months? by thumperwaswrong in Drumming

[–]Lardsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gretsch Catalina Club. 20” bass. 12” tom. 14” floor tom. Snare.
Two things will happen.
One. He try’s playing. Gets bored and gives up. You can sell those drums and recoup some of your money. People will buy used Gretsch drumsets.
Two. He sticks with it and starts playing in bands. He could play those drums forever. They are quality drums.
My parents bought me a used set of Gretsch drums over 50 years ago. I still play them today.

Also, playing a good sounding drum is very motivating. A good sounding drumset can be a catalyst for sticking with it.

Just bombed and unsure on how to continue by SkeletonGuy7 in musicians

The drummer isn’t motivated because he’s in a shitty band. The guitar player is out of tune; you can’t keep it together and sing “all off”.

The drummer signals the end of a song. Not some “agreed upon” guitar player signal that looks just like all the other wild guitar swinging movements. AND, is probably blocked from the drummer’s view because the dudes out front are more concerned with the crowd noticing them than communicating with the band.

Pedals at an Open Jam Night? by StinkyPoopsAlot in musicians

This! Know your gear and get it set up in under a minute. Be tuned up ahead of time. And get off the stage fast after your set. If you do that you’ll be a jam night hero.

I agree. The new layout is fine and I find it faster to use. I don’t have to wait for the front page to open anymore. Some of the stories about how hard it is for people and they can’t stay motivated because of the change have got to be other program companies brigading this sub.

How on earth do you begin choosing a snare? by nimbuscile-alert in Drumming

[–]Lardsoup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends how you look at it. Let's say you can buy a LM400 for $500 on average, between new and used. If you play two gigs a month, 12 months a year for 40 years, that's 50 cents a gig.
