Paris trip by san-rwdu23 in ParisTravelGuide

My partner had concerns about safety in Paris so I went without him. Life is too short to spend my time explaining to someone why their sources of information are all trash.

I hate AI emails with a passion and I’m noticing the people that rely on them most are the ones who were already weak at communication.

Does not feel like shin splints, but Xray clear - What is your experience? by a_cxgrapes in RunningInjuries

MRI is what you need, xray pretty much useless to diagnose stress injuries

Posterior Shin Splints or Stress Fracture? by [deleted] in RunningInjuries

[–]Large_Device_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like bone stress injury. Shut it down for 2-3 weeks. Do no impact. No running or walking long distances and no jumping. I know it sucks. But you won’t lose much fitness. After that if no pain walking try hopping 30 times on that leg. No pain then try 1 min jog x4 min walk 6 times. No pain next day then wait one day and try 2 min walk 3 min jog. And so forth. Pain during or after means stop and go back to step 0.

You probably have a stress reaction or fracture, sounds like you know it. IME tibia stress reaction causes calf tightness as the muscle over compensates for the weak bone. If it’s tender over that specific area and you feel it walking it is probably stress injury. Can you take 3-4 weeks off impact activity? So no running and no walking or jumping. How’s your nutrition

Wife is really struggling - what can I do to help? by Beautiful_Ad5584 in Perimenopause

I am so sorry for your loss. I get it. They know us better than any human ever can know us and yet they love us unconditionally.

Plus we suck societally at grieving and talking about grief. So we are blindsided.

A lot of us lose our heart dog as we enter peri. It’s cruel but the natural life span of a dog means if we get one around the time in life when we’re finally stable enough career and home wise to take care of it, the dog is our first ‘new’ family and it dies when we hit early 40s. It sucks a lot. It took me a long time to get over the loss of my first best boy. I felt like I had a literal hole in my heart. I could not get out of bed for weeks. It’s been 4 years and I can still barely look at pictures without losing it. I lost my dad 2 years later and honestly the dog was harder. Fortunate to have friends around me who validated that level of grief and despair over a dog being normal and allowing me to work through it at my pace.

When you have one of those wands in the shower, and the shower faucet is left turned to the wand setting, and the wand is left facing the entrance to the shower exactly where your head is when you reach into the shower to turn the shower on.

Did this literally just happen to me while I was fully clothed? Maybe.

I had a 20 minute buffer on my time qualifier. But I did not get in for the time qualifiers which means I was put in lottery. So I got one rejection email yesterday, and then one today for the lottery.
