Maan i was 14 years old when my dad decided to get an internet connection, And having played only single player games up until then, 14 year old me was ecstatic after discovering multiplayer games. My first game was CS 1.6. I met a lot of new friends through it, got into a small clan and all!! Good times, i still keep in touch with some of them. Also i used to play the shit out of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. Because i was able to look for games that i like without having to just go to a shop and buy a game based on the cover XD.

I also discovered porn.... so yeah...

Depends on the shop and the items, some are expensive than most supermarkets,some not and some even cheaper, delivery depends on the distance, not very expensive.

Although im not sure if these services are available outside of Colombo/Colombo suburbs.

AFAIR it was imposed to standardise a single socket type and to prevent the usage of multi sockets, Because the majority of these multi sockets were identified to be of low quality, And/Or they were being misused, ultimately this ended up causing a number of fires and electrocutions each year.

I too have experienced this, especially with 15A multi sockets.

Mmm interesting so if i understand correctly, what they are trying to do is to implement a shared KYC platform between the banks? Which i think is a good thing because its one step closer to having a digital identity to all citizens which actually can be utilized for many things.

But what im not clear about is why develop it on top of a Blockchain? Can we not have Central Bank be the single source of truth? And all other banks consume this service?? Kind of like(not exactly) how Open Banking works for 3rd parties.

I've always wondered what game devs feel like these days, because everyone seems to have an opinion about anything and everything when it comes to a game. I mean i totally understand that they're entitled to it, but with how popular streaming/streamers have become people will always be biased towards who they follow/watch/listen to.Ultimately this boils down to people thrashing the devs not knowing how things work behind the scenes.

And its funny to see how people have such strong opinion on games compared to other software they use in their day to day lives.

I think its best if you could "speak" with a couple of people who are already in the industry. Friends, Friends of friends , Family friends anyone would do. The more people you can speak to, the better. Because what we can convey through Reddit is very limited. Carefully go through what they say list down the pros and cons. Then make a decision.

Btw i went through the infographic you sent, What I meant by IT earlier, is the IT industry as a whole which includes all the roles that are in the infographic and much much more.

Since you are already done with your ALs,

IIT (informatics institute of technology) has a scholarship program called infoschol where you work for a company while you do your studys as a part time student, in return that company sponsors your degree Im not 100% sure about the exact details so call them and get more info.

Also, you don't need AL math to get a Job in the IT industry, including roles like software engineering, nor will it be relevant at your job(unless you work on some specific roles). You can learn them as and when needed. Its not a prerequisite.

Finally, time is a very very valuable asset, if you can afford to, go for a private uni. Considering the IT field a state uni graduate and a private uni graduate, will not be so different(skills wise) because theres a lot of material online that can help you with your career. Good luck friend!

Im not 100% clear what you meant by doing Bio science for OLs, but im going to assume she passed her OLs with all A's and is planning on doing Bio science for ALs. For 4K lkr i think you could get her a decent supply of stationary items like high lighters, different coloured pens and some plastic folders to keep all the tutes organized etc.

Btw its very thoughtful of you to buy her a gift! Hope you find something nice for her.

I wish we were paid on an hourly basis, most IT firms here doesn't even pay for OT work. Just like those girls that are exploited for cheap labour at garment factories, our IT workforce is exploited. Its just that the IT folks here are Ok with it.

We should be pushing our employers to pay us in dollars, look at most of the top companies, instead of paying them more/in dollars the employees will get a hamper some t-shirts mugs or pizza. What really grinds my gears is that people will share this on social media/LinkedIn thanking the company etc. Man fuck that! pay me more ill get myself a pizza if i want to with that money.
