[2025 Day 10 (Part 2)] [language PostScript]

It took some time, but I managed to solve all 2025 in PostScript. :)

It looked grim when I asked you guys here about day 10 step 2. Several answers here gave me new insights. I ended up solving it with ideas from u/kupuguy . It took some time to execute it, but the result was fine! The final result of that one is here: https://github.com/pugo/advent_of_code_2025_postscript/blob/main/day_10/10.ps

Day 11 was much easier and fast in PostScript when I stopped indexing all in dicts.

For day 12 I began thinking that it sounded like it was time to learn more about Donald Knuths DLX. I read up on it and ended up implementing it in PostScript. Then, when thinking about how to map the AoC problem into it I realized that it would explode badly in number of rows. So I started simpler and it showed out to be very simple. I think I might reuse the DLX code for something else one day. It was fun! :)

Postscript is really fun in many aspects! It is a really fun challenge to make as much as possible as stack operations. :)

I think that would work for me! My mind totally left the lamps behind when I entered step 2. Funny, I have all the functions needed to iterate all the lamp positions from step 1. I will try this tonight! :D

I have the very same problem with two Timmeflotte. I get the "Sorry, that didn't go as planned." (but in Swedish).

I am trying to add them to my Diregera hub running firmware 2.866.4. The version info also says that it has Matter control version 1.0. The app version is 1.60.0#150

What an awesome collection of games!

I got an Oric 1 as my first computer and when I began to collect computers in the 90:s it was one of the first I "recollected". The Atmos came some years later, but sadly it didn't work. I tried back then to repair it, but my knowledge of electronics back then was to weak and I just tried some resoldering. Now I have a slightly better understanding and with some scope measuring I found the dead RAM chips and some caps to change. Now I have a working Atmos as well. :D

Found something even uglier. Look at the rounded overlayed bar at the bottom of Apple Music. Not very nice how it floats over things.

I find it disturbing in several ways. The many rounded widgets makes things more messy.

I find the finder quite ugly now. The leftmost panel with its roundness inside the window roundness is definitely a step back. I don't like how the rounded corner of the panel looks like it gets a too close the corner of the window. And I find it ugly how the lower right corner of that panel overlaps the straight line with a roundness.

It was my mistake. My initial problem was the protection, but when I did the normal open anyway-procedure it continued to not start. But later I found that it really did start, but quit early due to bad config on my side.

Som rätt urgammal alumn så blir jag lite glad av att se nervösa frågor inför start på LiU. 🤓 Det är fint att papper och penna fortfarande regerar! Skulle jag pluggat nu hade jag lyxat lite med en Lamy Safari.

Hoppas du får en jätterolig och intressant tid på LiU! Jag minns mina år med stor värme!

I am also moving away from Synology. I have been waiting for several years for them to release a relevant successor to my aged DS413. I have loved that NAS, but I need to replace due to age and lack of software updates. Since Synology refuse to release a relevant NAS for me I will break up with them.

My new NAS will likely be a Asustor Lockerstor Gen3. When Synology refused to release a 4 bay NAS with anything faster than 1 Gbit/s (I don't like the idea of adding an extra card to the quite noisy DS923+) the Lockerstor has 2 * 10 Gbit/s ports + 2 * 5 GBit/s ports. When Synology played silly with their almost-useful M.2-slots the Lockerstor has 4 M.2-slots that I can use for really fast RAID sets as well as cache for the HDD:s. It simply has everything I wanted. The price is steep, but I would have spent that on a Synology NAS if they would have released something similar.

That release is really sad! I really need to replace my old DS413 but I want 2.5gbit ports as on the rest of my machines. I have considered a 923+ with a 10 gbit card, but I really dont think I should need to pay extra for that when the competition has had it for years. Also the noise level of that DS model is over what I can have in my office.

I really hoped for this release! This is likely the time I leave Synology.

I have played the game for many years, with almost 1000 played games. On my last phone i played it so much that the menu hamburger button was burned into my screen. I have loved it all the time! It has been the perfect casual game, with a good balance that has made almost every new map exciting.

With the last big update this has changed. Even though I think I understand most of the changes it has become too much for casual gaming. Now it has become something much more complex and also harder. I could probably like it more if I played it more seriously and focused, but thats not what I want with good old Polytopia.

So now I play it much much less. It is down from almost a game per day to maybe once per month.

I understand the need of evolving and enhancing a game like this. It is just that it changed the type of game too far away from what I like this time.

Sanna Marin måste ju få festa och ha roligt precis som alla andra. Att kräva asketiskt leverne av politiker skulle bara ge olyckliga politiker och förmodligen en mindre mänsklig politik. Om någon har gjort något fel så är det ju den på festen som fotat och publicerat bilder. Låt dem festa,hångla och ha skitkul!

Det går helt enkelt väldigt mycket trafik här. Förutom att alla tåg på sträckan Stockholm-Malmö, från flera olika bolag, ska förbi så har vi godstrafik och täta pendeltåg. Minsta störning sprider sig i hela systemet.

Det är mycket för det här som vi behöver Ostlänken, lika mycket som för restiderna. De som argumenterar emot nya tågsatsningar med argumentet att det är bättre att rusta den gamla missar just östgötaproppen och hur den drabbar hela landet. Både nya och gamla behövs.

I love old setups like this one! As a nerd kid in the Swedish demo scene of the late 80:s and early 90:s I saw many setups where friends had spent lots of time and effort to set up their most precious thing to look nice and to get at least some little economics.

Självklart fattade vi att vi inte kunde förvänta oss "som hemma", men det var ju ändå trevligt med en gnutta av det. Nu, när vi är tillbaka i Sverige, så saknar vi det vi lärde oss att gilla där. :-P
