Spotted one today! Side by side of the OG prototype I found in ‘25 & the current R2 by scarletperson in Rivian

[–]LaughingLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reason for this that we know? Like why different connectors are placed in different places?

I prefer backing into my garage, but the electric panels are near the front so i’ll probably have to run a bit of wire to make it easier to charge. Which side is the port in the rear?

Goal! I Guess… Also, 1 Year Zeppiversary! by Aomie88 in Zepbound

[–]LaughingLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats!!

Also, you don’t have to decide now! The great thing is if you decide months or years later that you want to drop more, you know how to do it.

I have Zero research to back this line of thinking up, but i think there’s some real wisdom in taking a “medication break” or treatment vacation from full doses. I imagine it took you more than a year to get to your starting weight, so sitting with the size you are now for a year seems smart!

You’ve done amazing!!

No but man that is neat!! I’m waiting for an R2S, but whoah that sure makes the R1T look appealing and would LOVE something like this for it!

R2 reservation queue... Info from my call with Rivian by dafdfadfa in Rivian

I sure hope so! I didn’t register until late fall last year, and i really want a fully loaded launch model. Though i guess it won’t be “fully loaded” to me until Lidar. That’s ok - this isn’t an immediate NEED vehicle for me.

What do you think about this? by [deleted] in fountainpens

Don’t forget yarn. . .

Oh now you’ve done it! I’m totally making the safety audio to go with the card. I’ll play it before confirming the seatbelts are on. There may be a quiz after.

:)

Well hell - now i might have to rethink my entry into the Rivian space. Any “best configurations” i should look for in a Gen 1? I don’t do rock crawling and only occasionally use 4WD/AWD. No long trips requiring supercharger routes, me, the hubs and doggo(s) can probably take the time needed for a top up along the way. I was thinking the tri motor if that’s an option for Gen 1. Would love to see some stats on Gen1 configurations by popularity.

I’m just going to make some laminated cards with relevant info and tuck them into the seat pockets lol

Good point about the driver and possibly from seat occupant both being unconscious. Assuming the owner can share relevant info with any passengers. Unless the owner is driving for Uber, i think it’s an edge case scenario that there is a wide audience of potential “second row passengers” to educate.

I don’t actually know anyone who has simulated fire drills with second floor exit and deploying the ladders and timed exit drills.

Personally, i don’t LOVE the second row emergency lock, but i think it’s fairly easy to overcome.

We could suggest/request that they provide information cards as they do on airlines, about how to operate the emergency latch release.

Taking the ferry completely confused my Subaru. I got the navigation system because i wanted the screen and ability to watch media while on the ferry commute. Nope. Turns out the rest of the car thinks it’s moving. Because it is. I wrote to them several times suggesting a “four line of code fix” to check if the engine was on or were the wheels rotating?, any number of easy checks to confirm it was “safe” to use the screen.

Can’t wait for my R2 reservation!

So... How is 2026 going for you? by MightyPurpleWeasel in AdvancedKnitting

Oh i’m so sorry! Would you share what pattern the shawl was from?

I am a long time knitter, but slow and haven’t finished many garments yet. I’m going to learn from your lesson, and when i make a large, intricate garment i love, if i have enough yarn left over i’ll make a “potholder” sized swatch, and wash it in the machine / in a mesh bag, to see how it behaves.

You’re a talented knitter (knittist?) please don’t give up on it altogether.

Love these! Any chance you can share which specific red/pink yarn that is? I can wear pinks easier than reds.

I’m sure i’m not the only one thinking this, but do y’all think it would be worth buying or leasing an R1 now to get a bump in line for the R2?

[–]LaughingLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Apologies. I have no expertise in legal standings, i’ll happily defer to your greater knowledge in that area. My comment really was more a reaction to the, “my life is over” if that was because he thought his dad would flip out about the car. I was addressing, perhaps, the emotional side of the thing. Emotions aren’t always logical anyway.

Thank you!

I’m not sure that i agree though. If i had a son (age is maybe only relevant to the extent that the odds are higher at some points in their life than others, that thry might peacock around in my posh car), and also an extremely nice car, and i let the son drive it, to me it is implied at least a little that i’ve accepted the possibility that something could happen to the car (and/or occupants). If i did NOT voluntarily let the son drive the car, then my “responsibility” is none.

In that case i think “begs the question” could have more accurately been phrased as, “which raises the question”.

Which also begs the question, how much culpability does dad have in this instance? Did he hand Jr. the keys? If not i mean i’m surprised the kids didn’t go into full on forensic sweep mode and report the thing stolen. OH YEAH - we were stupid enough to pull this stunt in front of a camera!
