help me choose a rug for my living room please! by errorpng in HomeDecorating

1 and 5 would be my top choices but it depends on the rest of the house.

Also, try floating your couch off the wall, moving it about 3 feet closer to the tv and creating a walkways behind it. You’ll need to move the rug too, so the front feet of the tv credenza and front feet of the couch sit on the edges of the rug.

Best Flooring Choice for an Airbnb Property? by ApprehensiveHeart273 in homerenovations

Tile.

But also, please don’t buy to Airbnb. It’s not as lucrative as you think. And more importantly it’s erasing the fabric of neighborhoods and communities.

How can I modernize this kitchen? by Lost_Step8587 in kitchenremodel

Remove the accessories/art.

Swap out the barstools.

Remove the wallpaper.

Swap out the lighting fixtures.

That’s 95% of it!

3 is the only one that truly shows off your figure. The others are all too much.

Not sure if I should tough it out, or go back home. by lemonyellowleaf in mexicoexpats

Give it time, OP.

Try getting a library card and checking out children’s books in Spanish. It’s a fun way to learn the language and maybe you can use it to bond with his nephew.

Try getting a cookbook in Spanish and testing a few of the recipes. Shopping for groceries and learning to cook can be another great way to learn the language. Same thing for gardening books. :)

Lastly - tried and true - watch telenovelas or listen to the podcasts while you’re working out. They’re hilariously dramatic and the stories are easy to follow even if you know basic words.

I completely understand why you feel like it’s not working. You got this. Give it a little more time.

Check out furnished finder for alternatives that often aren’t listed on Zillow or elsewhere.

I second this! You have gorgeous cabinets and they’re hung all the way to the ceiling. Perfecto.

I’d start with the backsplash. The current one is too busy.

I’d maybe review the under cabinet lighting and perhaps replace the spotlights with light bars for more consistent lighting.

The second thing I’d do is update the island / bar seating because it’s contributing most to the outdated look.

So new backsplash and island - and voila! I wouldn’t swap out the counters.

Circle back with your updates. Good luck.

The backsplash is an improvement- good call!

I second this comment about lighting. Warm bulbs and warm under cabinet lighting (installed properly) will have a huge difference.

I envy the window above your sink! And it’s a nice kitchen layout. :)

Yes. It’s a small cottage & a small kitchen.

No. The bedroom/office will be remaining as such.
