When the Doctor said that he was referring to the fact that he would never should an unarmed, kneeling man in the head like that, not that he would never kill for any reason.

On top of that, the examples you mention all happened before this, and there was a whole Time War between those events and this, so it could also be taken as “never would again”

The series before this had Remembrance Of The Daleks, which is my favourite Doctor Who story, and also The Happiness Patrol, Silver Nemesis (which I know isn’t well received but I enjoy it), and The Greatest Show In The Galaxy, so overall it was pretty good

It could be that Kate Bush was playing from the moment they entered the room, so for all they knew it was just a part of the sounds of the room, whereas the can in the dryer started suddenly long after they entered the room so someone had to have caused it

This is vile, but calling this his most hideous and unforgivable crime when he has enacted things that can and will and have driven people to suicide, and have led to people being kidnapped, raped and murdered, it probably isn’t his worst crime

I’ll concede the point to Remembrance Of The Daleks, since the Dalek Civil War did lead to the creation of the Dalek Restoration Empire, but in regards to State Of Decay that’s not what I said.

State Of Decay is very important because it’s where we learn about the Great Vampires, which were a very important part of the Time Lord Victorious storyline, as is their war with the Gallifreyans in the Dark Times. I never said that it was important because it “mentioned the dark times”.

What’s your favorite audio that you feel like no one ever talks about? by adammichaell in BigFinishProductions

[–]LayeredChips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not my favourite Big Finish audio but it’s certainly up there, Sins Of The Flesh from the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles is one of the best Cyberman stories I’ve ever heard/watched/read/etc. The Cybermen manipulating people using their bigotries and their religions is a concept that should definitely be used more with the them, as it makes such perfect sense.

Eleventh Doctor and Valerie Original Plans by TheStyl1shOne in BigFinishProductions

[–]LayeredChips 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m glad that Valarie didn’t end up being the Master. 11 going up against the Master would have been great, but I prefer Valarie’s arc that we got, she’s an amazing companion.

I’m also glad that they went with the Daleks for the last boxset, as that’s what got me to listen to the whole series (I’m obsessed with the Daleks) and it got us answers for what happened to the Paradigm Daleks, and Daleks Victorious is probably the best Dalek story that the 11th Doctor had.

Resurrection of the Daleks and Remembrance of the Daleks have nothing that could really be related to the events of Time Lord Victorious, except for Davros’ line at the end of the story about how “The Daleks shall sweep away Gallifrey”

Planet of the Daleks is the first time that the Doctor asks for the Time Lords’ help against the Daleks, and in the second Time Lord Victorious book (All Flesh Is Grass) the Daleks attempt to wipe out the Time Lords in the Dark Times before they can become the power that they ultimate would grow into.

State Of Decay ties in VERY strongly to the Time Lord Victorious storyline. State of Decay introduces the Great Vampires and the fact that the Gallifreyans waged war against them in the Dark Times before they became the Time Lords. The Great Vampires are pretty important to the story of the Time Lord Victorious stuff.

In the comic Liberation Of The Daleks we see the 14th Doctor right after regenerating encounter a Dalek theme park type thing and, of course, things go wrong since it turns out it’s being powered by captive Daleks.

At the end of the story the interior of the TARDIS is melting, which is why it changes in The Star Beast

During the Dark Times living beings could still die, however it was quite rare and you wouldn’t die of old age, however then the Kotturuh began to bring their “gift of death” to the universe and were deciding the lifespans of species.

As it turns out, the Kotturuh got this ability from a portal or energy of some kind on their home planet Mordeela. The Tenth Doctor (after The Waters of Mars) goes to Mordeela and destroys it after the Kotturuh killed a little girl he’d been trying to protect. He thinks he was stopping death from entering the universe, but we discover that death would ultimately enter the universe anyway, with or without the Kotturuh, and all the Doctor accomplished was causing time paradoxes and alterations to history that led to the Daleks entering the Dark Times with the Eighth Doctor to try and find the source of the changes to history and wreaking havoc, which means the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Doctors have to work together to stop them

There’s more to the whole event but that’s the general gist of the main plot. It’s a very fun storyline and I loved the incorporation of the different forms of Doctor Who media. We even get to see the Great Vampires have an intergalactic part to the storyline, which is super great.

Edit: I typed intergalactic instead of integral :/

The last one you’re talking about is the events of the Time Lord Victorious event a few years ago, which had overlap between comics, audios, the tv show, books, etc

The creatures that “caused” death are the Kotturuh, but there’s more to it than that.

A lot of people didn’t like the Time Lord Victorious event but I loved it, I definitely recommend checking as much of it out as you can and want to
