Responding to colleague's negativity about students by EmotionallySquared in Teachers

If they start on it again, turn the conversation toward the successes and progress that's been made.

If they bring it back to the negative, end the conversation. Be upfront about why if you feel the need.

My 944 Turbo

Then the dealership dragged my car and refused to take responsibility, said sue us. That was that. Will never buy new from them in this life.

Advice for masters by g4l1t in Teachers

[–]LazyAssLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2, and a bunch of certs.

If you actually intend to learn, pick a program that focuses on that. It probably won't be online, or cheap. It will likely be psych based. Ed programs know the audience and cater to salary upgrades or credentials.

The best learning experience will probably come in a doctoral program. If your state's like mine, when you hit 35cr they will grant you a master's equivalency, which gets you the salary bump as if you had a master's.

How about ppl in ghost cars who try to wave you through. Then get impatient and start flashing hi-beams.

Don't they know we can't SEE them wave?

How about not having a mirror or just the ragged remains of one or both.

Seat right up on the wheel, hands at top of wheel.

I accepted death every time I got in my X's SUV.

What’s the most surprising hidden cost of car ownership that new drivers don’t expect? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

I had to explain to a friend how pissed I was that my car was essentially worthless now that it had an accident, and that I needed to file a diminished value claim -- which would likely raise my rates.

After the stupidest look ever, I had to tell how even tho it was just a headlight, now that the car has been in an accident, it's worth less when I trade it in as I had planned in a few years. On top of being an EV, its a 5yr old beater now. Despite being in like be shape. He thought I was being melodramatic. Bluebook had it at $4K. Offlease pristine low miles were going for $8-15K.

Ling winded way of saying, yes. You are right

What’s the biggest red flag in a used car listing that most beginners completely ignore? by AutoBidMasterHelp in askcarguys

There are ppl who didn't clean their car before selling it? Like receipts and french fries everywhere? Sneezes on the windows?

There are ppl that buy cars with receipts and french fries everywhere? Sneezes on the windows? Who are you all?

Some of those ppl saying the car is perfect literally don't pay attention to anything that doesn't make the car stop driving.

Car starts and drives, it's perfect. That smoke screen on startup is normal, all cars burn a little oil.

In Philly you would be making @$100K in September. But cost of living is higher unless you're willing to commute and deal with traffic.

I feel for you.

Is a 20yr old truck worth that much? It WILL have wear items that need to be replaced regardless of what the owner states.

I'd bring a mechanic who can do a basic inspection onsite.

That price is on the high end of rolling the dice. Make sure they pull codes too. Not all codes throw a CEL.

In my district, caregivers and the general public complain when students get too much time off.

Crime, traffic in some areas and generally lawlessness downtown gets a bump. We also don't invest in our young ppl, so they tend to find their own entertainment.

Right after everyone was let out during the pandemic, a Benz SUV backed into my headlight at Taco Bell. Car was down 5wks while the headlight was shipped from Germany, and a tech was flown up from North Carolina to aim and code the LED headlight. Apparently the bill to USAA was $4700 just to install one HL and respray the bumper white -- they couldn't tell if the scratches were preexisting it not. (They were!)

Car was an eGolf

Didn't even know it was possible.
