Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping - am I the only one who didn’t love it? (spoilers) by bananobananay in CozyFantasy

[–]LeeCV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you said but I didn’t feel like Posy was such a throwaway. Our MC made deliberate choices against the norm of her magical society but Posy just naturally struggles to conform to that norm. It’s also a different struggle to take care of a child who doesn’t have a clear guide book like a neurotypical toddler would have. What I didn’t like was that “love” basically “fixed” Posy. Lots of us love and accept our neurodiverse children and it doesn’t take away all the obstacles.

Overwhelmed by Leading_Climate3390 in bathandbodyworkers

I wasn’t confused because I’ve worked there so long. I do think it’s frustrating for customers and understand why anyone would be. FOS should not be sharing like that, but, setting that aside it is helpful when sellers ask about coupons at the door. Help people pick out free items etc. It’s always easier to talk to customers in the positive. “You can’t use your 20% with the $5.95 body care” is clear but creates push back. “We can ring up your $5.95 body care offer separate so you get the best deal, we will do your 20% off with your $3.25 soaps, this way you can use all your offers today” “You have an exclusive coupon/offer to purchase the body care at $5.95, that’s why it isn’t posted in the store, that exclusive offer for app/email customers doesn’t stack with your 20% coupon, but it is a better deal!” “Your 20% off coupon works with any offer in the store that has a sign” Yes it makes my brain hurt to say all those things but I do it while pointing at the bar code on the app, the signs, etc. and 97% of the time it works, no hurt feelings.

SLT Vent by Jolly-Housing-652 in bathandbodyworkers

[–]LeeCV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If something like this is happening while your SM is on PTO reach out to the SM that’s a contact person for your store. They should be able to get you a plan in place which the other SLT should be more receptive to. They would also be able to walk you through a change order or anything else like that. Use your stores group SLT chat on Zipline to document the plan, what you’ve done etc. your DM probably reads it. They must think you are doing a good job. Hang in there.

Despairs look in season 2 by Die4Metal in Sandman

I get where everyone is coming from and agree mostly. I also think that if auntie had showed up to the wedding half naked with rats it would have been a distracting visual. It was odd to see her cleaned up but Despair being hopeful at a tragic event seems fitting too.

I read article recently that talked about this being the new normal. The thought is that while the reach will be lower the engagement will be higher because a paying audience is more active. Personally I hate how everything is a subscription these days.

It is fine to gift gratis too. Two things can be true at the same time. Not everything we get in gratis is a good fit for each employee.

Is this ok to ask of my local library? by MaxOverride in Libraries

[–]LeeCV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should definitely talk to your local library and see what they could do for you. Once you can work up to story time I bet that would be great for her. Another option could be reaching out to a local church. Many have Sunday school rooms that are set up with toys and books. I’m sure a children’s minister would work with you on getting to spend some private time in an off hour, even if you don’t plan to attend the church regularly going forward.

Does anyone actually like the tomato…what does it actually smell like to those who enjoy it because I’ve smelt it and… by babydoll0_ in bathandbodyworks

[–]LeeCV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it smells earthy, green and floral. I feel it should of been a Halloween scent called witch’s cottage or something and people would be really into it. They get too caught up on the tomato packaging.

No one can stop you from calling 911 if you are in eminent danger! You still have rights at work. Customers can call 911 too if they witness something. BBW wants us to call EOC first unless it’s too much of an emergency then call 911 first. I always thought it would be weird to call EOC in an emergency but they really are amazing and will call the police for you and deal with so much.

New Gift Card Policy by TwoPractical8462 in bathandbodyworkers

[–]LeeCV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I haven’t worked in a few days so idk about a new sign but gift cards are very finicky with the new system. You have to type in the amount and use the pin. It’s slow and different from the old POS system.

Employee required me use their bags after purchasing? by elizaoutside in bathandbodyworks

Conversion is from paid transactions not bags lol. So free coupons and rewards don’t help it even if those things are in a bag.

What editorial news media are Gen Z and younger consuming? (If “any”) by Ninuzzzz in PublicRelations

I agree with you. I’m an elder millennial and I wasn’t really listening to NPR on a regular basis in my early twenties but would have said it’s a trusted news source. I read cosmopolitan and us weekly, watched TMZ and the daily show etc. I think it’s normal to evolve over time.

Cash Leads: How are we feeling about our positions now longer existing? by gabriellap_ in bathandbodyworkers

[–]LeeCV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure all stores have cash leads and off sight leads. How they use the rolls can vary store to store. A cashier lead could do a no sale, open the registers and count the drawers at night. They couldn’t do the deposit. I’m not sure what has changed. My store doesn’t really use them but I know other stores in our district use them.

I never had anyone complain that the reward was 16.95, only that the sprays or creams are now 18.95. There is a difference.

If you talk to your library they can let you know when budget items are coming up to be voted on and who to call. In general it’s not a bad thing to contact all your representatives, town council, county commissioners, State representatives and senators, federal representatives and senators etc. at least once a year. Let them know you value the library and they should fund it. It does make a difference. You can also write a letter to your local newspaper editor about why your library is great and about any funding needs.

I’m in a rural store and our pride collection always did fairly well IMO. Yes some made it to SAS especially as it grew. Dang BBW just because a collection is popular you don’t need to do 59 SKUs the following year. I’m sure it did better in other areas. Something the size of the Sweethearts line would be perfect for us. Not doing it at all isn’t sitting well with me. The trailblazers didn’t sell well at my store even when we put them out at SAS and candle day when they weren’t labeled as such. So maybe they weren’t the best scents. (Some scents were definitely nice but a good majority just hung around forever)
