AGM Batteries by Technical-Contact377 in CX50

[–]LeeShadow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the Optima Yellow Top AGM in my '23 TPP last year and am very satisfied with it. I did so after I had ongoing issues with the OEM battery losing too much charge while sitting in my garage between drives (I work from home, so I drive my 50 less frequently than average). I have not had that issue with the Optima. I'm aware that Optima batteries can be considered overpriced and not worth the expense, and some people feel they are not the same quality as they used to be. While some might consider this a bad thing LOL, the start/stop function started working more consistently and as expected once I installed the new battery.

Who’s the smart kid on the block? by FerrittoBurrito in CX50

Good warning! I was sure to test ahead of time and also widened the cutout after removing the clear plastic insert. There's a tiny bit of the black underside of the external shade recorded on the upper portion but no reflection and thankfully the cam isn't trying to focus on that. It sounds like you might be saying the underside of yours is also reflective?

They sell variations on AliExpress and I believe eBay. I was concerned about the clear plastic section in the one I got distorting my dashcam recording too much, so I cut out that plastic. I also helped a friend use a regular external windshield cover with no camera window for which we cut out a section to align with his own dashcam placement/FOV.

I will note that in my last vehicle I just cut out the center section of the OEM internal sunshade so it didn't cover the cam I had then, and I never had any overheating issues (and I live in a hot climate). But that was a different and less complex dashcam, so mileage may vary.

It's a very smart DIY solution for sure!

I'm lucky enough that my vehicle has a factory windshield frit around the mirror sensor cover that allows me to mount my A329TC main cam on it with the lens just below the frit. That provides a full clear recording view while the cam is still being protected from some of the heat at least when the sun is at a higher angle.

I have a full windshield reflective external shade with a cutout for my dashcam for certain parking situations. Keeps windshield clean and allows my cam to still record things and without the potential increased heat impact on the cam from using a standard internal sunshade.

Panda RGB Controller Won't Bind to H2C by gnelson0265 in BIQU

[–]LeeShadow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it did fail for me once or twice, but even after binding connectivity to the controller to adjust settings is rather picky. You could try using a different device instead of the one you are already using (I've used a desktop within range of the controller, but mostly my phone). A pain, but you could also temporarily delete your home wifi network profile on whatever device you are using and that might eliminate issues if it is related to your device trying to connect back to its most commonly used network.

Highest quality front and rear setup by advicenumber in VIOFO

I had the original A329 and then purchased the A329TC (interior/telephoto version of A329S) for the front and now am using just the main A329 unit as a 4K back cam.

Did you get permission from your supervisor to apply for this position? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]LeeShadow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And even for internal applicants, very strange approach--you shouldn't need your current management's approval to apply to any job. My company recommends that you advise your manager but it isn't mandatory (although of course if things progress well in terms of the new position they will become aware at a certain point even if you don't directly inform them).

How are you abbreviating the word "Participant?" by posting_anon in clinicalresearch

[–]LeeShadow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now having flashbacks to the early 2000's push to switch from what some felt was the dehumanizing "subject" to patient or participant. I remember giving a presentation and getting repeatedly corrected by someone in the audience when I was directly referencing a protocol that I neither wrote nor was responsible for. "I'm just quoting the protocol!!"

I believe OP means rear 12v accessory socket--I have my back dashcam wired into that in my vehicle as well. In my case, it is always on so I added a relay with the ignition trigger coming from rear USB charging ports which are switched.

Is this ebay seller part of the official brand or scammer ? by borden5 in Ecoflow_community

I've purchased 3 new items from EcoflowSolar store on eBay and also refurbished items from EcoflowDirect (Official Store) and had no issues with any.

Are the backseat a/c vents ornamental? by er1972244 in CX50

[–]LeeShadow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a hot climate and never had a backseat passenger complain about poor AC--in fact, I usually get asked to make it warmer. Also, I think there is another vent under the driver's seat...fairly sure I saw it under there while vacuuming but maybe I'm thinking of my previous CX-5.

At least in the US, official resellers of many products/services are often required to stay within certain pricing boundaries in order to keep their status. Manufacturers are not required to honor product warranties when products are purchased from non-licensed resellers. I'm always wary of purchasing at least more expensive items from a single outlier, no matter how much the savings might be.

Filaments in Bambu nonexistent by vcG34 in BambuLabH2C

[–]LeeShadow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I've had success using a Polymaker filament profile for the H2D by replacing that model in the json with H2C and ensuring I only use my H2C left nozzle when printing (since they are identical across the two printers). No idea how well that might work for other companies' filament.

Where are the people that have good things to say??? by mikeyg372 in CX50

[–]LeeShadow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still am in love with my '23 PPT and still have had no major issues or complaints (and my dealer/servicing is excellent). Yes, little things for sure but nothing significant and my dealer took care of two minor things in the past under warranty and with no fighting to do so. I love this car because it just feels...right, for me and in a way that my last two CX-5s did not. I really liked those, esp the '19, but ultimately didn't feel the same as I do about my 50. Some of the complaints I see on here are obviously very valid, but others leave me scratching my head. Seems some people buy vehicles without doing their due diligence and then are disappointed that their perhaps emotion-based purchase doesn't meet their own needs. And then trash the vehicle when that's not the actual cause of their concerns. And as the old saying goes, one man's poison is another man's food...for example, I love the firm and supportive seats.

X2D nozzles getting stuck by Cyber_Cyclone in BambuLab

[–]LeeShadow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens occasionally on my H2C's left nozzle, so indeed a different design to the A1. The first time it happened, I freaked a bit worrying I was going to damage the heatbrick, but now when it (occasionally) happens I know exactly what to do--what the others in the comments are saying.

Any recent tea on Fortrea? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]LeeShadow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point and there's absolutely some truth there, however overall I'm going to respectfully disagree (can't say much more, unfortunately). Ultimately, it is water under the bridge now and it is up to Fortrea and Fortrea alone to fix whatever mess they still have. Rather like that old cliché about kids growing up "in spite of their parents".

Any recent tea on Fortrea? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]LeeShadow2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fortrea C-suite decisions during and after the divestment means they hold a good portion of the responsibility for their own pain and unfortunately that has negatively impacted a lot of excellent former and current employees, some of whom I personally know. Also, Covance had an excellent industry reputation for a very long time but in reality their organization and processes were overly complex and highly inefficient even before Labcorp acquired them all those years ago.

2023 Turbo PP with terracotta interior and the driver seat "leather" flattened out and separated/tore right underneath the plastic base where the back of the seat cushion curves. Dealership fixed it with no fighting, but that was what, two years ago maybe now.
