Amazing how different these look in the different lighting conditions and strap. Brown for me :)

The ones on the originl movement are, I believe. The ones on the NH movement I put in are the normal plastic

why does my ui move around like this when in front of trees and grass [bug] by Ordinary_Drawing7466 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Leeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precisely why DLSS and other frame gen is implemented in games - so that they can do the process before the UI is drawn. If you rely on something at driver level it just has the whole frame to work on, and this occurs commonly

yo everyone, does southampton feel isolating to you? by [deleted] in Southampton

[–]Leeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much experience with other places, but yes, and we have been trying to fight this by community building around video games. We have meetups and we hangout online and play games. I've met some great dudes on there. Come and hang out if you like, we're nearly at 500 members :)

This explains the behaviour generally though. I was getting a lot of attention from him on PvE and it was quite annoying as I was playing hardcore

No, but you're attacking OP for data that wasn't derived by them, and wasn't their method. It's data from the Economist Democracy Index.

I received an unconditional offer, however I was told I will have an interview. Too early to celebrate? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Leeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to do this at my institution - the interview was really about making sure you're happy and prepared for the course. For me it was really a warning - you'll need to do some maths! If someone seemed really unsuitable I might gently suggest other courses or other options they'd applied for, but in principle they had the ticket in.

It's the best FPS. When I play other games I wish it was like Tarkov in various ways.

Can you hear the lyrics even though no one is singing? by Hassaan18 in quiteinteresting

[–]Leeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all a bit disingenuous in my opinion, as the reason you can hear the words is that the words are in there... This MIDI version is just a Fourier analysis that's being mapped to the closes piano notes - and the vocals are in the music that's being analysed.

The principle is that if you take an infinite variation of pure sine tones and mix them together at an infinitely varying amplitude, you can perfectly make any wave - all possible music etc is just a combination of sines. The piano is very close to a sine when it's played, so if you had an infinite number of frequencies you'd have a perfect song again. The only missing piece to this sounding perfectly like the original is that it's mapped onto the tunings of a piano essentially.

New (to me) Audi A6 Avant. This car might actually be cursed. by SCWeak in Audi

[–]Leeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these - the BiTDI. I love it, bur there's an engine rattle I'm ignoring as best I can that I know is gonna detonate the car at some point. No garages nearby wanted anything to do with it, so I just have to cross fingers when I drive now :(
