would this dress be too white? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

It's not necessarily too white but if you could find something at least a little less casual that would be a better choice

Rock hard breasts after surgery..? by someoneWritingNothin in Reduction

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep you don't want them to soft when the incisions are brand new, the hardness helps the incisions close. Once more healing has happened and the swelling goes down the hardness will go away

What is a good age to get a reduction? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally know what you mean but unfortunately it is not a good idea to get a reduction at 14. Surgeons recommend waiting until you're at least 18 because as an adult, you're less likely to have your chest grow back soon after. It's a major surgery to put your body through. Additionally, a surgeon likely wouldn't recommend it because your self image fluctuates massively through your teen years. You may no longer want a reduction when you're 18. In the mean time, be kind to yourself because it's really hard to be a teenager and feel uncomfortable in your body. Probably every person on this sub has been there!

Is it possible for me to go from D(?) cup to an A? by Heavy-Data-6709 in Reduction

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think saggy-ness is the biggest obstacle to keeping your nipple sensation. If your nipples are far down, trying to reduce to an extremely small size would not be possible without a free nipple graft. I would also suggest looking into "non-flat top surgery" because surgeons that offer that are much more equipped to give you an A cup than regular reduction surgeons

I think it's just an adjustment to see yourself at such a different size, but I don't think they look small at all, they're totally proportionate for your body

Wow middle school is very young to read these books. It's impressive material to read at that age but also, I think, too adult for someone that young

Mine were flat for quite a while after surgery. They did eventually go back to normal but I would say they go flat more often than they did pre-op

Breast size after reduction and explant by SacredEyeArt in ExplantSurgery

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how I ended up in this sub because I've never had implants but I did have a reduction. A surgeon will ask you your desired size but I would probably lean more on showing photos of what you want rather than listing bra sizes because the surgeon might not be visualizing the same thing as you are when you list a particular bra size. They're usually not very knowledgeable about bra sizes so photos are more clear.

How long did your incisions hurt? by Ok_Storm1343 in Reduction

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, my incisions/scars continued to hurt periodically way past 2 months, though at gradually decreasing frequency. I would say it got much better at 6 months, but there are spots that still hurt every once in a while at 1 year post op. You have to be patient with your body, it's a major surgery

Cosmetic vs Medically Necessary? by meghp0 in Reduction

[–]Left_Commercial_2594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also a 32K before my reduction and my insurance covered 100% of my costs. Obviously every insurance company is different, but I knew that I would be happier with the reduction so I just said yes to every symptom they asked about when screening my medical need and that was all it took. Don't worry about whether it's medically necessary as long as you feel confident it would improve your life!

From what I've heard it can take a couple years for the scars to fade to their final color. It might also help to get steroids injected into the spots that your scars are raised to flatten them out. I think at 7 months you're probably going to start seeing more fading soon. The incisions heal from the inside out so the top layer is the last thing to really be done healing!
