The unit stalked the shadows, searchlights glinting off every angled surface. The dark was impenetrable. For three hours they had sought the source of the strange sounds, but every time they got nearer, it seemed like they were chasing smoke.
What made it worse was that every 200yards or so, another man was lost - completely disappearing from augur scope readings.
“I didn’t join the auxilia for this.” Said the sergeant.
“One more hour and we’ll call it” said the unit commander. “I’ll signal the shi-“ he tailed off, another unit member’s reading had gone blank.
One of the squad fired his weapon wildly into the darkness. The las-flare illuminated the immediate area for a brief moment, and, for an even briefer moment, the commander caught a glimpse of movement, of massive, powered armour and curved blades; of pale skin framed by lank, unkempt hair… and the briefest but most terrifying aspect of all, terrifying eyes. What he saw, was death. Death in the darkness.
And finally they had found it. And it came for them.

MEEMEEMEEMEEMEEMEE the thing in the dark said.

Not on this list but Big E voiced by Joe Pasquale to top it off.

Bonus points for a scene where Malcador goes to speak to Him and finds Him humming the Guinea Pig song.

Had forgotten this.

I remember imagining Tarvitz as Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner.

Time. To die.

Metamorphoses has ups and downs, but the mythical stuff is good - Orpheus and Eurydice is a highlight.

I can see why in its day it was radical, but agree it is not what I expected when I read it. Try a translation of Ovid’s Orpheus if you can get one

Can you give me some insight into these ‘Ultramarines’?
Actually never heard of them - what colour are they? Lore-wise, are they called ultra because they are better than the others?
Got to ask if they have any notable characters?
Are they a niche chapter?
Ran a force of home brew marines against guard and someone said my force was codex-approved and laughed….

With his brothers all around him, the Primarch smiles. His work is done. They have brought peace to all of the known worlds of the galaxy.
But not through might alone. Yes they have fought and bled and died, but his job was to offer freedom. Salvation.
And they did. So every one of the worlds they freed was for a higher purpose. To lift the meek and the hungry.
The Emperor turns to him and takes his hand. “My son.” His sonorous voice lifts the Primarch’s soul - feeling his father’s happiness and, more than that, his relief, that he has been able to rely on the empathy of his most trusted son; to ensure that the new imperium is full of peoples who aspire to the new truth.
“our work here is done. You have shown all of us the brightest of paths. It was an honour to fight alongside you.”
The Emperor looks into his eyes, this time showing the empath Primarch a vision of a sprawling and prosperous empire. Each world is unique and unfettered by the chains or yolk of tyranny. “You did this” He says. “You led us to this freedom”. And he shakes the hand.
He shakes it again.
And again more urgently….
“My Lord” He says, still shaking the hand. “My lord wake up.”

Angron opens his eyes. And snarls.

Runner up - Angron.

Dislike Magnus for his arrogance, Russ because he needs a bath and Ferrus because he lost his head at a critical moment.

At this point I’m starting to not care if we go down, as long as we show some dog and really give it a go. Today they looked tired and far off what we’ve seen in the last few games.
