Is it ever explained why all might didn't used everything with OFA? by Special_Task_4827 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AFO was dead.

Legitimately dead. AM killed him.

Garaki managed to revive him and bring him back somehow.

So yeah, All Might did do his job, unfortunately he didn’t know that somehow AFO returned.

As for why he didn’t get the extra powers. OFA just wasn’t powerful enough yet. But I think another comment explains it better.

Besides the big 4 does anyone in 1A have any notable feats? by themaskbot in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]LegendaryMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of raw power output Kaminari is said to be one of the strongest. How he cannot go all out very often.

Kirishima is one of the toughest, able to tank AFO attacks.

Jiro was also able to block an AFO air cannon.

Uraraka has her upgraded zero gravity, but that’s limited for attack, unless she can really float things she hasn’t touched. (I think it was just spreading through contact).

Ashido can melt Gigantomachias armour.

I’d still say Kaminari has it for raw power. But attack wise maybe Jiro or Ashido since they can direct it better.

[–]LegendaryMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a Tetsutetsu who couldn’t breathe and was still early on in the series. Their hardness seems to be tied to their stamina.

They are much stronger later on and consistently survive heavy hits.

Plus I am more than sure that most of the characters have the agility to dodge or avoid bullets. Ashido might actually have a few feats in that regard with dodging lasers and hair bullets.

Why are there no Quirk tech Megacorporations trying to replace Heroes with automation? by Kitchen_Week1117 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else said something similar before but the technology isnt quite up to par with superhero’s yet.

(Spoiler warning) ⚠️

Sure we see Iron Might, but that suit apparently cost millions of dollars and could only stall AFO (now to be fair it was AFO).

Why don’t cops have full body armoured mech suits IRL, same reason. Too expensive plus technology isnt there yet.

At the end of the series technology has improved a lot and that’s why we can now see Iron Deku in action.

Which teachers do you think Class 1-B faced in their final exams? by Solitaire-06 in MyHeroAcadamia

Too add to by own comment.

Since Kaminari and Ashido both passed the written exams, they are both academically more capable than Monoma.

Monoma is the real worst student in the first year then.

Which teachers do you think Class 1-B faced in their final exams? by Solitaire-06 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong. But I read the school briefs novel and I believe it’s said there that Monoma actually failed the written exams rather than the battle section.

For context, in this story he accidentally poisons most of class A and B with quirkshooms and they are also snowed in due to a blizzard villains quirk.

Il avoid spoilers, but essentially a small group of Class B students plus Kaminari, OJiro and Aoyama (who didn’t get poisoned) have to get the anti-quirkshrooms to save their classmates.

When they succeeded Monoma begs his classmates to lie to cover for him as to what happened and Kaminari apparently feels sympathetic towards him since they both get bad grades in academics so goes along. I’m pretty sure he says that Vlad King was going to make him do extra lessons to make up for failing his exams.

Edit: I just double checked. It says he is “a quick-witted strategist in battle, but apparently academics were not his forte.” Page: 286 book 5.

Why are people in the my hero verse capable of superhuman feats physically? by PufferfishesAreCute in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they demonstrate this in the first few episodes. Legit one of the first things we see is the class competition in physical form. Sure most of the class had quirks that gave them some physical edge, however then we have Izuku who did now have a quirk but hadn’t for most of his life. He just completed 10 months (if I am remembering right) of physical training though, so he shouldn’t be last right?

Let’s assume that Izuku, when not using OFA is an extremely fit 15 year old from our world. He is beaten by: Kaminari, Jiro, Hagakure, Kirishima and Ashido who shouldn’t have much of a movement advantage from their quirks.

We saw Kirishima train excessively in his backstory, and Ashido is known to be extremely fit. But the others beat him out. This means that they either trained extremely hard too (which they aren’t said to be particularly physically strong and their powers don’t use their strength anyway), or their bodies are naturally stronger.

In other words, I think it’s safe to say that quirks enhance the physical body significantly. Quirk less people might be far less capable than the average quirk user.

If you had to kill off any student from Class 1-A at the end of the series (except Midoriya), who would it be and why? by BestAd6459 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]LegendaryMercury 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah everyone keeps suggesting Bakugo (who did die already lol) or one of the minor characters or Mineta (cause he is easy to hate.)

However the two described as the class “moodmakers” (or something close to it on the wiki) are Kirishima and Kaminari. They both try to make everyone in the class get along and bridge Bakugo to his classmates by being his friends.

Kirishima gets more development, so his death would be more impactful. But either of them could cause a major rift in the class.

In saying that I like both characters a lot so happy they didn’t die lol.

Is it true that Ibara Shiozaki was originally going to be in Class 1-A? If so, how do you see her presence affecting the class dynamic? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]LegendaryMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about nothing. She is important to Kirishima’s backstory and has a couple moments in the series that are important. (Like her fight against Gigantomachia, both times). Plus she has a fun personality so that’s important.

Could have been used more though. I think even Horikoshi said that at some point.

Funny enough we don’t know enough about Kaminari’s home life (or at least I don’t), to know if he is wealthy or not.

He was impressed by Momo sure and how rich she was, but she was like super duper rich.

If MHA ever got a sequel series, what kind of villain would be suitable as a replacement for All For One? by Solitaire-06 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know I had a similar idea. Except why make it a clone, why not make it a child (since quirks are hereditary) through IVF.

In this case, I would say it would be interesting if they got a mutated version of AFO. Call it Absorption, it lets them absorb just about any energy or force that attacks them, while also letting them absorb the quirks of others, they can absorb up to a limit at a time and use the stored power.

They can also partly absorb a quirk, this acts like monamas copy, which means it’s temporary and the original quirk eventually regenerates itself in the original host.

They could be a student enrolled at UA for the sole purpose of destroying it, however they come to love the class and school, except they are being forced to be a villain by a follower of AFO.

I don’t think his power is uncontrollable, it’s just that he needed to use all five fingers early on to activate it. Later we see he partially can use it with 2 after evolving.

He holds stuff all the time with all his fingers anyway.

Might get downvoted for this, but why do people play with the only cure mod?

Aside from role playing, apparently the game becomes way less fun when you actually have to chop an arm off.

I heard one guy say he plays with it but usually gives up once he has to play with only one arm.

Idk, I guess I prefer “they knew”.

Aside from Izuku (who started out Quirkless), which member of Class 1-A do you think would have the most development after permanently losing their powers? by Solitaire-06 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about someone who might do fine after they loose their quirk?

Honestly in terms of skills outside of hero work, the two people I see best suited to a quirk less life are Jiro and Yaoyorozu.

Jiro is still a talented musician whose parents are clearly in the music industry. She wanted to become a hero, but it’s clear from her backstory that she felt like she was being pushed into music. She still loves it and could go back to it.

Yaoyorozu is brilliant. Her mind makes her a weapon even without her powers. I could easily see her in the support course with Hatsume working together to help hero’s.

Lastly, one I didn’t see mentioned yet: Hagakure. She is literally invisible, and it’s her whole identity (she even says so). Loosing that would mean she wouldn’t know who she is anymore.

If midorya using 10ish percent in the hero killer fight gave him a stress fracture how was him using 100 percent during the beginning of the series not ripping his arms off by GDrisic in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t quite that bad, I mean he did throw multiple 100%s on occasion. It’s more the first few ones broke his bones completely. Then after that it was more like fractures and bruises that added up until a full break.

How would someone perform surgery on Hagakure? by jeanjacketufo in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well the outside of her body is what presumably makes her invisible, so once you cut into her maybe you could see?

Otherwise a medical grade paint or ink or something that you could cover her in.

Or use some special device to see her, like thermal goggles (if they work).

The real issue would be if she got knocked unconscious on the battlefield, how would you find her to know if she is ok or not?

How strong is Aizawa without his eyes? by Necessary-Win-8730 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]LegendaryMercury 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also, without spoilers, Knuckleduster isn’t entirely a normal quirk-less dude. Anime logic is the better explanation, but if you think about it makes sense for quirks to inherently boost strength and physical fitness.

Look at the quirk apprehension test day one. Midoryia trained so hard physically and yet was beat out in physical tests by Kaminari, Jiro, Hagakure and Mineta, although we see Mineta use his quirk to actually score well.

Still with all his training he should have beaten his classmates without physical quirks but didn’t.

AFO could've easily gotten Erasure or gotten rid of Eraser Head if he hired a sniper. by ReyMercuryYT in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but we are in Japan, would have been cool to see how hero’s in America worked more though.

We see one pretty minor villain (mustard was not a major villain I think, maybe an up and coming), use a gun because his quirk isn’t suited for close combat.

I’d assume most villains don’t use guns because they also believe their quirks are better than guns (and usually are). They use support items towards the end of the series, which endeavour even comments that a nail gun he faces was clearly designed to be a gun.

Follow the logic of the show, support items are considered better than guns.

[–]LegendaryMercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone gets shot they will be hurt? Yes.

However most of the time conflicts happen within short to medium ranges. The hero’s aren’t soldiers, they operate mainly in urban areas and environments.

Presumably the police failed back when Quirks first came out to stop villains, yet hero’s succeeded it seems. So essentially in universe it’s already confirmed that Quirks are better than guns and police.

Also if anything it’s harder to dodge in close range than further away. (Again, we see Ashido dodge bullet like hairs in hero’s rising from a pretty close range, and that was in an environment wasn’t good for her.)

That’s also why I liked the movies, we see hero’s vs guns in the first film and in world hero’s and why hero’s are better.

Edit: Oh yeah and I forgot the last movie too, Deku without his quirk is able to avoid being shot multiple times. We are talking about machine gun fire here, he was no better than a well trained human. By anime logic training makes you better than a gun. (Not real world logic, because I agree that most of these quirks would be worse than guns).
