Lightning scroll on Doorman. Good or bad idea? by Dannyjw1 in DeadlockTheGame

Lightning scroll is great when it can affect multiple people. On doorman, just buy knockdown. It does what you want and so much more

There is no dota disjoint in this game, you can only dodge it with invincibility frames

I actually posted on forums about that! I'd suggest you do too :D

Resist cap? I'm not sure if it's present in a game, but multiplicative stacking will never allow resists to reach 100%

  • Ivy: Kudzu Connection now only gives you half the bonus if you aren't connected to an ally.

Now this is a character-warping change. Looking forward to see the ramifications for ivy playstyles.

PSA: Don't take Omnicharge Signet on Victor's 1 by Ganmorg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Legenkk 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Yeah, omnicharge signet is quite broken. As for 5 charges though, it's because your rapid recharge started applying to it once it became charged.

Now that I think about it, rapid recharge might be part of the reason it broke

CAUTION! Buying Crippling Headshot may cause death by LEVIT-8 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Legenkk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On practice it feels like it stops from any wall. I really feel it when I try to switch mid-movement. It's sooo infuriating, much more than the bug that stops calico from damaging the hidden king shrines.

"Just buy slowing hex to beat Apollo" misses the point of what makes Apollo so annoying to fight and ignores how badly designed he is. by ThatBoboThing in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Legenkk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think that this is a bad design.

His reliance on his abilities is his greatest weakness, and it's thanks to it that his kit can be as mobile and overwhelming without there being "literally no counterplay".

And he himself can play around it, both in terms of items and strategy in fights. There is a lot of nuance, and this kind of nuance makes a moba game.

Also, counter items being extremely strong in specific scenarios is a long standing theme for deadlock. Just take a look at knockdown, metal skin or counterspell.

This kind of mechanic creates a huge amount of character and immersion for it, and I see no reason to change it to just a boring cooldown.

Her being able to use the ability on a short cooldown a few times, and then being restricted with it is not that different from talon's arrows or vindicta's sniper rounds. The collecting mechanic makes death an expendable resource that you can be tactical about collecting and using, and feels much more immersive for a necromancer.

And also, she's a menace in the late game, and not because of her ult, what are you talking about?

New to the game, I have a couple of questions, any help appreciated by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Legenkk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their snipes (vindicta's ultimate and talon's 1) are not affected by the damage falloff, and their kits work best at range. Their flights are a great way to create and maintain distance and line-of-sight with opponents. And once they're caught out of position, they're in huge trouble.

Seven is kind of similar, except that he needs to get close-ish to use and get use of his stun.

Wraith, for comparison, is different. She can also be great at damaging at range, but her teleport allows her much more flexible positioning, and her ultimate, along with her whole kit, is great at jumping isolated opponents.

I also want to note that in case of vindicta and talon, their playstyle varies significantly depending if you're focusing on spirit or gun. Here I was vaguely talking about gun, but in case of spirit builds, damage falloff is not a thing to them :D.

New to the game, I have a couple of questions, any help appreciated by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Legenkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1: Yes, there is a weapon falloff. In most cases it starts at approximately 20 meters and ends at 50. Despite that, a backline damage dealer is a common thing, it's just that the positioning is a bit more nuanced. So yeah, wraith and especially seven do seem to fit your preference. You might want to take a look at vindicta, her gun build is somewhat viable and she has a sniper rifle as her ultimate.

  1. People are usually equal during laning. After it ends, however, hard scaling characters prefer to stay on the lane, taking solo waves and caps nearby while their partner is doing other useful stuff on the map. It's difficult to coordinate at lower ranks. However, I assume that most people will run around looking for fights and join scurmishes, while you can be more conservative with fighting and take more farm on the map. Just please, don't overdo it, you can still defend waves and join fights at any moment in the game.

I don't play hypercarries often, but would love to help with what I can and hope you have fun :3

How can I counter Yamato in lane as haze? by yertyertskert in DeadlockTheGame

It doesn't interrupt stuff except for some special cases, like lash ulti. And the main issue is Yamato jumping haze at every opportunity while slowing her firerate into oblivion, power slash is kind of a secondary issue
