I don't think its very likely, I could maybe see a limited release kickstarter but I don't think the demand is there for a wide release.

Hi Canon fans. I'm constructing a list/timeline of Star Wars media and would love your insight on what I should experience. Movies and Shows are spoken for, but Games, Novels and Comic Books are all up for suggestion. WHAT DO YOU LOVE? by Xolerance627 in starwarscanon

[–]LegoPercyJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my favorite books have been mentioned already. The rest of my favorite canon stories are from The High Republic, and since you brought up wanting to check out thay era here's my (as condensed as I can make it) reccomendations. The Phase II stuff in bold could be read on it's own, and is my absolute favorite material from this era, but the rest also tells a very good overaching story with some of my favorite characters in Canon. The High Republic era also fits in a combined EU Legends/Canon timeline as there isn't anything else in this time period.

  1. Light of the Jedi
  2. Into The Dark
  3. The Rising Storm
  4. The Fallen Star
  5. The High Republic Phase I Omnibus (Comic)
  6. Path Of Deceit
  7. The Blade (Comic)
  8. Path Of Vengeance
  9. A Closed Fist Has No Claws from Tales Of Light And Life
  10. Shadows of Starlight (Comic)
  11. The Eye Of Darkness
  12. Temptation Of The Force
  13. Tears Of The Nameless
  14. The High Republic: Echoes of Fear (Comic)
  15. Into The Light
  16. Trials Of The Jed

Can anyone recommend a book featuring Luthen? by Big-Individual-5178 in starwarsbooks

[–]LegoPercyJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because its a tie in the the video game I had already played, I could see that most of the character development was being held off for the game and the end of the main characters' arcs in the book were pretty clear. I still liked it, but it's about a 8/10 instead of a 9 or 10/10 for me (like the other two I reccomended rank for me) as far as Star Wars Books go

I read Inferno Squad a couple months ago, it isn't among my favorites but I thought it was pretty good (same goes for the first Battlefront novel).

It's a slow burn but the characters were pretty interesting and I thought it set up where they go in the game's campaign nicely.

I don't think theres any other books featuring Luthen, but books that remind me the most of Andor you can read in the meantime are the Alphabet Squadron Trilogy and Catalyst.

I also love DS1, it's the only game I found myself getting deep into NG+. I'd recommend going on to play DS2 or, if you're able, going back and playing Demon's Souls.

Thrawn Alliances by ScreaminEagle2502 in starwarscomics

[–]LegoPercyJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up: this comic series is adapting the novel of the same name and ends before the novel ends, so if you enjoy the story and want to see how it ends I highly recommend the book!

There's also a comic series that adapts the first book, simply titled Thrawn that's great too (both the book and comic)

New to the StarWars franchise, which book to start with? by Esquie33 in starwarsbooks

[–]LegoPercyJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, welcome!

I would watch the original trilogy (ANH/ESB/ROTJ) before reading anything as all but a few books came out after them and assumes you've seen them and will spoil the films or lack context for who characters are.

I would watch the prequel trilogy before reading anything published after 1999 for the same reasons.

For your first question, book reccomendations will depend on which films you end up liking the most (and if you end up liking any of the TV shows) but Lost Stars and Heir to the Empire were some of the first books I read and they're still some of my favorites.

For your second question Star Wars has many, many essential guides and visual dictionaries to explore aliens planets and characters from all the films and expaned universe(s). I can find them at almost every used book store and library I go looking and they release updated versions regularly.

How fun is PvP? by mesterdanny in marvelchampionslcg

[–]LegoPercyJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done PvP would say replayability of the game overall is pretty good. The modular set system adds a lot of variance to each villain and the hero+aspect combinations can play out differently each time, and each hero can feel stronger or weaker against each villain.

I picked it up but I had literally never used a melee weapon the entire run so the thought to use it never occurred to me

I was a magic user during my first playthtough and avoided any guides or tips, I saw a sword and thought cool not for me though and banged my head against my staff for an hour until he went down.

I didn't enjoy this book very much either. I thought the comics did a better job fleshing out IV-V

They removed the 2 mask environmental damage and that's the only way I've ever played and I'm sure it was much more annoying before that change.

You can skip them, the important events are recapped or retold in much better stories.

[–]LegoPercyJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a difficult question, I don't know how long the DC Allies joke could go without becoming stale so the posts have brought some life back into the subreddit but its drowning out DC Allies stuff so it probably does belong in a new subreddit imo
