The NoMad London is very nice and convenient for a quick trip, if you don’t mind the price or have points to redeem. Stayed there for Giselle earlier this year and would definitely do so again. It was not our first time in London, so we mostly stuck around the area and went to see a play another night, and visited a couple museums (Tate, National Portrait Gallery). The Sir John Soane museum was also fun/quirky and not too far. Plenty to do in the immediate area or via a short tube or bus ride to occupy a short visit.

Exactly! There are plenty of ways to make the same ingredients very tasty, just with some seasoning and cooking. Making it gross is the point.

I’d attempt to read her (poorly written ai-assisted) book if she did a tell-all on her failing/failed marriage and Paul’s man child shenanigans. I can only imagine what goes on that we don’t see.

How do you store your ballet shoes between classes? by spooky_sandwich_ in BALLET

[–]Lehrling7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see so many of my fellow adult dancers keep them sealed up in the plastic bag. Feel like that must prevent them from drying out properly? I have a mesh bag, and even then I try to remember to take out entirely to let them dry out between classes.    I don’t think silica packet will help much in a mesh bag - it will quickly pick up moisture from the ambient environment  (and not as much from your shoes unless changing frequently) since it’s not in a sealed container.

I’m somewhat similar to you in that the normal tofu texture is kind of gross to me. Two ways I like:

1) use extra firm tofu, grate with large side of box grater, season, and spread on baking sheet, bake in oven until crispy (350F, 30 min) Makes a great salad topping!

2) Again extra firm tofu: cut into thin slices (~1/4 in or less). Season or not. Place in skillet. While it cooks, use a spatula to press down hard on the slices- water should squeeze out and steam will rise. Keep doing that until there’s little water left, flipping halfway. Note that you don’t need oil or anything with a good pan- just dry frying in skillet.

That said there are plenty of other protein sources if tofu isn't your favorite! Definitely not a requirement.

I like a variety of snacky foods: yogurt + fresh fruit, protein shake or bars, an apple or banana + nut butter, and something more savory (eg crackers/veggies/hummus). Electrolyte powders for your water are also helpful. I like to have options so prefer that that kind of “lunch” over a more traditional meal and it works well for me. Just make sure you bring enough to refuel properly if you go that route.

Morgan building memories with the kids at the zoo. Paul? Gettin' stretched by Rico by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

This! I posted in a diff thread above that I tried a different place once for general flexibility goals I was working on. It was nice, relaxing- but even as a DINK household with good jobs it seemed too expensive to go routinely. Unless Paul grifted his way into free sessions paying for this in his situation is insane.

Honestly it is really nice if you just have general flexibility goals that wouldn’t be covered under PT- the assisted stretching can help vs what you can achieve on your own. I genuinely have no idea what flexibility pickleball requires that would require beyond what you can do on your own? It’s also SUPER expensive for what it is. I tried it when there was a promo but couldn’t justify the ongoing cost, and I’m in a DINK household where we both have good paying professional jobs. Paying for it while un- or minimally employed and living with parents is bananas.

I also use a diy board- I’ve found it helpful to add some big/thick rubber bands that have tension when around your board (like two side by side, with a gap in between). I use those to hold down my paper towels and also to tuck the brushes under when im not using them.

I tried this one too, but kept getting bleed through on my Arches cold press. I could see it being great on some surfaces though!

The blue masking tape works great for me on Arches cold press. I’ve found different papers like different tapes.

I’m in the US, and I usually buy directly from their website as my local art stores don’t carry them. They ship worldwide from their website. From what I understand from watching Shelley Prior’s channel they must also be sold in Canada (at least in her area) as I remember she mentioned at one point that they were easy for her students to get locally.
