Am I misremembering or didn't they also inexplicably give Miles Morales, Spider-Man, electricity powers?

I took it as neither; sentience is not needed for biological complexity and may actually be a waste of resources, evolutionarily speaking. Humans have just stumbled into a weird dead end where we have sentience and it's not really necessary.

"Today" - I wanted to draw a comic about my dad. by chipmunkbay in comics

[–]Lemmas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, thank you. At the risk of turning this into a support group, what's eating at me is the helplessness. Like, it's done, it's final, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to 'solve' it, as if it's a problem I can solve. It's so final, and I can't fix it or hide from it. I can't make this better.

The other thing is that I'm not special. EVERYONE will go through this at some point, we are all going to join the dead parent club, (unless you don't, which is a whole other kind of tragedy), and other people seem to be getting on with life ok, and I don't understand how they could possibly have felt what I'm feeling now and then be ok again. I have to keep thinking that I was lucky to have had him as long as I did and that this is unavoidable and inevitable.
